However the room was on the 3rd floor and we had to climb 2 flights of rather narrow stairs. Also, there was no on-suite bath. Our room was basic - 6 tatamis, 2 futons and a tv but it suited our needs. The location was convenient, just a 5 min walk from Kyoto station and across a family mart. For the amount of guests shared bathrooms were never an issue. Halls were hot during record heat week, but rooms stayed cool with the A/C units. Staff offered us a ride one hot morning when we had our longest morning walk of the trip. Very walkable and near the Kyoto Tower.
