We also appreciated that the hotel helped us arrange transport from the airport. It was a bit of a drive but the property was worth it. We loved staying at The River!"

Top Kourounes Hotel Reviews

Village Heights Resort

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay! The staff were friendly and there was always something to do. The pool was great, parking, food, the rooms. My daughter cried when we left."

InterContinental Crete by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the InterContinental Hotel in Crete. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel was beautifully designed, my room was comfortable and spotless, and the views were breathtaking. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the location was perfect for enjoying everything Crete has to offer. Every detail made my stay feel special. I highly recommend the InterContinental Hotel in Crete and would happily return!"

Enorme Infinity Beach ex Infinity Blue

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were amazing, front desk very helpful and available 24 hours a day. The rooms are pretty basic, but have everything you need. One of my bath towels was dirty at arrival but was switched out quickly by the staff. The food buffet is good, lot of variety however the seating in the dining area is partially inside and out. If the weather is poor and outdoor seating isn't open then finding somewhere to sit can be frustrating."

Paralos Venus Suites - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"It is a good property and nice to be off the main drag. The rooms and furnishings are very nice, as is the breakfast and pool areas. The staff are friendly and generally very responsive. However there are some issues, mostly linked to the vistas of the rooms and the fitness centre having no cardio machines. The property is over 100m from the beach and the sea views are over a car park and or scrub land."

Paralos Kosta Alímia

10/10 Excellent

"We have just returned from a wonderful week here, a really amazing hotel, food and service is outstanding as are the facilities, it’s a really well run hotel with lots of experienced staff making a great team. The room was great, had a retreat garden room with hot tub and fire pit, would recommend it. The housekeeping was fantastic. Will recommend and hope to return sometime soon"

Nana Royal Premium Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We just returned from a week at Nana Royal and had a wonderful stay. The facilities, ambience and staff are fantastic. We stayed in a room with a sea front view and shared private pool. There was a great deal to do within the resort and a lot of dining options to choose from. If I had to choose something that could be improved upon, it would be the food quality in some of the à la carte restaurants, a few things were rather basic and bland but this really didn’t detract from an overall great experience."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Kourounes?

The best time to visit Kourounes is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from April to early June and again from September to October.

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, ideal for exploring the natural beauty and historical sites without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at beaches and attractions. Flights and accommodation also tend to offer better value during these times.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, the spring months (April-May) are particularly good. The landscape is lush and green, and the wildflowers are in bloom, making for particularly scenic routes. The sea is also warm enough for swimming by late May.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will appreciate the quieter beaches and more intimate dining experiences available in the shoulder seasons.
