"Lovely clean room that was regularly serviced by super friendly staff Very useful approach of automatic aircon that is enabled when the windows close but switches off if they're opened. Excellent location by the harbour with many restaurants and shops close by. But good glazing prevents excess noise accessing the rooms on a night. The balcony was a wonderful touch."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kos Town?
The best area to stay in Kos Town is in and around the Old Town and the Harbour, as these areas offer the most convenient access to attractions and amenities.

The Old Town, with its narrow, pedestrian-friendly streets, is where you'll find the most historic parts of Kos. Landmarks like the Tree of Hippocrates, the Ancient Agora, and the Castle of the Knights are all within easy walking distance. This area is packed with traditional tavernas, inviting cafes, and shops, making it very easy to explore on foot.

Couples often find the area near the Harbour particularly appealing. It offers lovely views of the boats and the Aegean Sea, especially at sunset. Many hotels here are just a short stroll from the Old Town's historical sites and provide easy access to the waterfront promenade, where you'll find a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The convenience of being close to both the historical centre and the sea makes it a great base for a relaxing holiday.

For those who appreciate a slightly quieter stay but still want to be close to the action, the areas just a few streets back from the main harbour or the edges of the Old Town offer a good balance.
When is the best time to go to Kos Town?
The best time to go to Kos Town is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for exploring the town and enjoying the beaches without the intense heat and crowds of mid-summer. You'll find most attractions, restaurants, and shops open, but with a more relaxed atmosphere. It's also a good time for outdoor activities like cycling or visiting archaeological sites.

For those looking for the liveliest atmosphere and don't mind higher temperatures and more people, July and August are also popular. This is peak season, so expect the town to be bustling with activity, particularly around the harbour and Bar Street. Beaches will be at their busiest, and booking accommodation and popular restaurants in advance is highly recommended.

If you're seeking a quiet escape and are interested in the historical sites without the crowds, late October and November can be a good option.
