Named after the beautiful Snowdrop flowers which bloom in the garden, this charming holiday cottage is the perfect place to enjoy a tranquil break in the countryside. Originally built in 1700s, the cottage has been in the family since the 1940s and it was used as a stable and cowshed for years before it was fully refurbished into a cosy holiday home recently.
Located in the sleepy village of Staveley near the North York Moors, Snowdrop Cottage is quaint and picturesque. It is located in a great spot as you can reach Knaresborough centre in just ten-minutes and Harrogate in only 20-minutes by car. You'll find a local pub and Staveley Nature Reserve just half a mile away from the cottage.
Sleeping two guests, it is ideal for couples or friends who want to unwind and relax. Guests are welcome to wander around the award-winning wildflower meadow, an acre of disused railway line and the large shrub area which has hundreds of daffodils in spring.
The idyllic Snowdrop Cottage is picture perfect. Outside the property, you’ll find a large paved area with patio furniture. The cottage also boasts free on-site parking, bicycle storage and underfloor heating.
Inside you’ll find a bright open plan kitchen, dining area and living room. With buttercup yellow walls and dark exposed beams, this space is cheerful and airy. Snowdrop Cottage has everything you could need for your stay including a fridge, freezer, oven, toaster, microwave and kettle. Cutlery, utensils and pans are provided so you can take full advantage of the self-catering facilities at the cottage. There is also a dishwasher so you can avoid washing the pots during your stay!
You can enjoy relaxed breakfasts and evening meals at the dining table. The living area features a TV with Freeview and a large, comfy sofa so you can unwind on a night after a long day of exploring.
The spacious bedroom is peaceful and homely. There is ample wardrobe space and a dressing table. You’ll certainly look forward to your sleep at Snowdrop Cottage as the comfy, double bed is a dream. The same country style flows into this room with exposed beams and wooden furniture.
The modern bathroom is complete with a large walk in shower.
Guests have access to the full cottage. The property is located across one floor and it has a step-free access.
There is free parking available at the cottage.
Staveley is a pretty and charming village just 4 miles from Knaresborough. There are lots of walks within a few miles of the cottage and you’ll find the local pub, Royal Oak, just half a mile away. Newby Hall is 7 miles away and features famous double herbaceous borders. Harlow Carr Gardens and Ripley Castle are 9 miles from the cottage and you can explore Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal which are 12 miles away.
You can reach Knaresborough centre in roughly 10-minutes via car. Here, you’ll find Knaresborough Castle, Bebra Gardens, Mother Shipton’s Cave and Dropping Well. If you're a keen golfer, Knaresborough Golf Club is less than 3 miles away and Harrogate Golf Club is within 10 miles distance of the cottage.
Harrogate is bustling with bars, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema all within easy walking distance. You can explore the Valley Gardens and enjoy traditional afternoon tea at the famous Betty’s Tearooms.
Ripon is just 9 miles away and features a cathedral, museums and Ripon Racecourse.
If you're travelling by car, Snowdrop Cottage is just 3 miles from Junction 48 off the A1M.
Staveley has great bus links to Knaresborough, Harrogate and York. Hop on the 21-bus route and it will take you to Knaresborough Bus Station. Take the 22 / 23 bus route to York and you can visit Ripon on the way.
Both Harrogate and Knaresborough also have great train links to local towns and cities.
