2/10 Terrible

"Air-conditioning sounded like a bucket of bolts the whole night when it was turned on, even when turned off it still made loud noises every 20-30min. Carpets were lifting in the main bedroom. Exterior flood lights from main buildings were constantly on and the blinds made no difference at all. Shower drain was not emptying correctly meaning that over the course of a 10min shower it filled with water. Room was clean at first glance but overall the quality was pretty poor. I unfortunately was not able to raise this to hotel staff as by the time we had got to our room it was close to 1am. Breakfast was pretty standard with a good variety of hot, cold and continental options."

"The staff are always very pleasant and helpful, and check-in is smooth and friendly every time. Unfortunately, I’ve been disappointed with housekeeping on my last few stays. I’ve left the “Clean My Room” tag on the door when leaving in the morning, but returned to find the tag still there and the room untouched. I have mentioned this previously at reception, but sadly it doesn’t seem to have improved. Apart from this issue, I absolutely love staying here."

"We booked our room while on the road so with about half hours notice of arrival. When we got there the barman was very helpful and informed us that our room actually had a shared bathroom which hotels.com did not have featured in the room description. When my partner said she was uncomfortable with that the barman explained that we could have a family en suit room for £10 extra. With little choice we took it. The bed we both found to be uncomfortable and we only had a hand towel in the bathroom. I went to shower anyway and the water only trickled out and did not go hot so I had to do with a wash. We then went downstairs to eat. My partner had a home made pie which was lovely and my mixed grill was over priced for what you received. The half a chicken must have been about a ¼ of one. The hospitality was top and so was the locals though. The next morning when we left we bumped into the cleaner who said her and the owner had been off for a few days and apologised for no towels and explained it does fall apart when both are off at the same time. I won't return again"

"The room we had was in poor condition. One of the mattress was so soft which can not support anything. There was only one roof window, poor ventilation. We had to keep it open, noisy outside. After the flush of the toilet, we need to wait for a very long time to have another flush. The shower was not very good either. The swing bar lock did not work. The carpet looks dirty. The breakfast was very so so, very limited choices of fruit. Their staff are friendly. However, I will never go back and not recommend to others."

"A superb hotel for the price which was significantly lower than similar options in the locality. I made a mistake leaving a shirt and jeans in my room after leaving, the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting me in getting the items posted back to my house - really went the extra mile. Great value, great location, great staff."
