The caretakers were wonderful and accommodating, we even got an option of different rooms once we arrived. Definitely try the English breakfast.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Accommodations were clean and comfortable, and a great location to go hiking on the cliffs.

Beautiful, historic place fronting port of Dover

Posted 03-Oct-2017
This is a marvelous old (I think) Edwardian house right along the main road fronting Dover's port area, immediately below the cliffs of the castle. The owner was super friendly and breakfast was perfect. Breakfast room was quiet overlooking the small garden I front. My room was quiet and comfortable, and the entire house has a wonderful air of history combined with coziness. Only downside is the view of the port and all its lights/activity, but that sort of comes with the territory. Would definitely recommend as a great value for Dover.

A hidden gem of a hotel

Posted 01-Oct-2017
Right under the White Cliffs of Dover in a regency building. Robert is an excellent and hospitable host. Very good breakfast attuned to our preferences - coffee much better than elsewhere in the UK. Room was very clean and bed comfortable.

Pleasant hotel

Posted 29-Sep-2017
Pros: Good hotel for short stays in Dover or top over if using the ferries
Cons: Squeaky floorboards
Location: Nice countryside and walks
We had an enjoyable stay in Dover visiting the White Cliffs of Dover. Hotel was pleasant and the staff welcoming. Clean comfortable room.

Very close to the Ferry terminal. Old fashioned.

Posted 19-Sep-2017
Pros: Location, Service, Breakfast.
Cons: See above.
Location: By the ferry port. Close to Dover Castle, which we visited the morning after staying there. Worth visiting.
A nice old house, well kept. Some minor blemishes, such as lack of a towel rail in our bedroom and poor lighting. Our bathroom was down a few steps and along a passage. Water hot, Breakfast excellent. Service good. Some parking in their yard. Rooms at the front might hear the traffic on the road to the ferry port. We will book there again if travelling through Dover. Their rates are attractive!

Friendly, clean and welcoming B&B

Posted 10-Sep-2017 on Hotels
Great small b&b hotel. We were late to check in due to traffic problems, Robert texted us and asked estimated arrival and when we said we wouldn't make check in he kindly said he would stay till 10.30pm. Lovely welcome on arrival, nice room with lovely view over port. Free parking outside which was great. Lovely breakfast in morning, with either continental or cooked. Fresh fruit, cereal and croissants or English cooked. Would definitely recommend it especially if you plan to get ferry as is only couple of hundred yards to terminal.

B & B in the White Cliffs of Dover

Posted 08-Sep-2017
Pros: English breakfast was delicious, Robert was a fantastic host, typical English flat five stories tall. What a view both front and back!
Location: Tour King Henry ll's castle. Have fish & cjips and a pint of beer at The White Horse pub just around the corner. Hope a bus to Folkstone for the day.
Excellent place to stay. Perfect spot for touring the castle and hopping on the ferry. Dover is such an interesting place historically and the best part is talking to the locals, they have so many wonderful stories to tell that you don't hear any where else.
