"My husband & I have just returned from a 3 night break in The Douglas. He had booked the hotel and I expected it to be pleasant and clean but perhaps ‘traditional’ and possibly a little reserved. Our experience far exceeded our expectations!! We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Holly on reception; the room was beautifully clean & tastefully decorated and felt just the quality and ambience you would hope for a getaway treat. The food was amazing - from the gorgeous heartwarming breakfast to the best (Brazilian) Prawn Curry I have ever tasted. The restaurant & bar staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A particular shout out to Nicol, who was great, but there were many more who we just didn’t catch their names. Thank you to you all for looking after us so well! We had a wet and windy 3 days on Arran but actually the hotel, with its lovely vibe, really made our stay fantastic. I would rate it 5 stars + and recommend it to anyone visiting the island. A wonderful experience. Thank you once again to all the staff at The Douglas for making our stay so special!"

"Really comfortable accommodation with wonderful views over Arran and beyond and a great location for exploring Kintyre and also within easy reach of the ferries to the islands of Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura. Excellent breakfast with a wide selection of hot and cold foods, scrumptious home baking is available and the evening meal we thoroughly enjoyed. The hosts, Susan and Angus were so friendly and could not be more helpful."
