The pool doesn’t look desirable to jump in but who wants the pool when you have the beach right in front of you. The room had what we needed. If relaxing and quietness is what you want this is not the place, it’s a block away from main bar areas and there is another beachfront bar right next it music is very loud but it was convenient for us since that’s what we wanted.

Everything about this hotel was great. The concierge was very helpful and efficient. The rooms were clean. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. The only major problem was the neighboring bar that began blasting loud dance music at 10:00-10:30 PM. It was tough to sleep there, sadly. We certainly slept well when we made it home.

Beautiful location. Was quiet at night on Sunday so that was amazing. The area is very noisy overall. The room was about a 2 star, no amenities, no TV, no blanket, no coffee or glasses or mugs. It had a bed and that was it. Great place if you want to party and be out about the town.

The hotel is nice, VERY well located in the heart of Holbox, but with that comes the noise, and gets VERY noisy!! The hotel has a bar in front of it and the party goes on until 4/5am. The room is exactly as you see in the pictures but the hotel is made of wood so you can hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms. Said that, the bed and staff is great and the view is awesome.

⸻ We have visited Holbox many times and chose this hotel because the location is a nice balance—close enough to town for my friends while still feeling close to nature for me. The property is beautiful. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely cooled, with excellent hot water. The pool is gorgeous, the location is spectacular, and the staff are very kind and friendly. They even prepared a lovely birthday celebration for me, which was a very thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, the noise at night was a major issue. There are nightclubs behind the property that play music until around 11:30 PM, and later—between about 2:00 AM and 4:30 AM—cars frequently stop outside playing very loud music. At times it felt like having a nightclub inside the room. Our group had three rooms and unfortunately none of us slept well during our three-night stay. It’s truly a shame because otherwise the hotel is wonderful. If there were better soundproofing or some way to control the late-night noise outside, this place would be absolutely perfect.

The hotel El Faro was absolutely amazing. The location was perfect, right on the side of the ocean. The room was clean, as described, towels exchange upon request, and staff offered to clear the room on a regular basis. Loved our stay. Staff was amazingly helpful and friendly!

The view of the beach is amazing. For the price, the conditions are very good - rustic, but that's the charm of Holbox. Amazing sunset, especially if your room is on the second door. At night it is very noisy because of the bars, but again, that's the charm of Holbox! We really loved our stay! Thank you!

Loved this place. Can’t beat the location and the staff is wonderful. It is right on the beach by some bars and it can be a loud at night. If you want fun, clean, safe, in town, close to everything, and right on the beach this is a fabulous option. If you are looking for fancy and quiet this is not what you are looking for. But we LOVED it and will be back.

The hotel was just what we needed for a short stay—basic, clean, and with a beautiful oceanfront view. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We were even able to book a few excursions directly through them, and pickup from the hotel was easy and convenient. On the downside, there’s a bar next door that stays open until 4 a.m. with very loud music, which made it difficult to sleep. We also didn’t have hot water for showering during our stay. We originally tried to book directly with the hotel staff, but they quoted us 1,200 pesos per night. Through Expedia, we were able to book the same room for 800 pesos, which made it a much better value. Overall, if you’re planning to stay out late or don’t mind a simple, conveniently located hotel, this is a solid choice. We’d recommend it for 1–2 nights max.

Location is awesome but you will need earbuds to sleep well. Staff provides world wide service, extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool was really cold so it was nice during the day but not in the evening. This property just needs a bit more of furniture to put your belongings a tv and it will be perfect. Over all highly recommended to experience walking from your bed to the sea, thank you guys for such a great experience.

Good placement right on the beach but there is a bar very close that play techno music until 4 am.. the hotel staff did offer us earplugs. Lot of ants in the room, asked if the could spray not sure they did it. I used my mosquito spray it help a bit. Rest of hotel was good, Staff very friendly.

Property is great location and staff so kind but there are noisy bars close. On a sunday night it wasn’t bad but weekend nights can get loud. Also, expedia map has wrong location. It shows the property 2 blocks east of the square …, but it’s not. It’s right off the main pier. My one night stay was lovely though I booked based on an incorrect location which is not the hotel fault but hopefully Expedia cam correct.

Great experience. Lovely staff, incredible beachfront location. Front desk was so helpful booking tours and taxis for us. I loved the old school tropical vibe of the rooms, they feel living in a James Bond novel (though the excellent aircon made me grateful to live in modern times). The (unaffiliated) beach bar out front is really loud, very late, every night, but the hotel can't control them. Overall I really would recommend the hotel, just bring quality earplugs! If I were Oól, I'd look at buying that bar and improving it (the bar is always empty despite having a perfect location.) Great breakfasts at Limulus, a few doors down to the east.

We liked the view from the room and the beach next to the hotel. The hotel is not sound isolated and you can hear your neighbor and you hear all the night bar around the hotel until 3:00 am. You arrive at the hotel and they give you earplug. It’s like going to a restaurant and they offer you anti-vomitive… Really strange. Also they ask you to pay a tax that is not mention anywhere to stay at the hotel but you have a discount if you take the ferry. Also strange. We decide to leave early the hotel and to book an other hotel far from the sound from the downtown.
