"Been to Knysna now on many times, stayed in various types of accommodation within the town, very impressed with this hotel, ideal for walking around town, the marina and it's location is great, ideal for walking to many of the towns restaurants' and bars. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Staff were really helpful, breakfast was fine although there are many cafe's around the hotel should one want any alternative breakfast, although what we had was fine."

"Fabulously friendly and helpful hosts. The room was comfortable and clean and the bed was very comfy too. A lovely balcony to sit at in the evening afforded us a great view out to the sea.
Breakfast was well executed and staff were all friendly.
The property is well located - just a short drive into town.
I would definitely stay here again if I wax to return to Knysna. "

"Beautifully appointed and magnificent views of an (almost) private beach. It’s a magical location. Be aware that access isn’t easy and it’s completely self catering, including breakfast. "

You can take time to visit Fisherman's Path Sparrebosch Trail during your travels to Hunter's Home. You can seek out the golf courses while in the area.
The accommodation was clean and comfy and the breakfast was substantial.
And owner has very good local knowledge and is informative.
We would stay there again

Wow...what a wonderfull homely welcome we had. Christa showed us round and what a place with so many extra little touches. Great location not far off the main road but far enough away to have very little traffic noise. Short walk into Knysna but we chose to use Uber which was very quick and not expensive. Breakfast was delicious and a work of art. Christa arranged for a service wash of our clothes which we really appreciated for the remainder of our trip. She also advised us on things to do...

Great view from the balcony to the ocean. Even it's loud, you won't here the sound of the sea while sleeping. Very clean and quiet, beach is not far away and also the drive to Knynsa doesn't take too long.
Hope to be there again any time

Couldn't be better positioned on the Garden Route/N2 and right on Knysna Quays with shops and restaurants at hand. Hotel in very good condition, nice rooms and superb bathroom.

Very good value for money. Big outdoor swimming pool with good swimming depth. Nice breakfast in the morning. Secured car park. The host was very welcoming.

Beautiful property with well-kept gardens and surroundings. The room was very spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The only negative I can mention is the air conditioning, which was quite loud, and the extra sofa bed, which made so much noise that we sometimes woke up even from a deep sleep. The restaurant served very tasty, high-quality food, but the included breakfast was the same every morning.
There are two pools on the property, both clean and well maintained.

We were a little sceptical about the reviews, however we had a great stay and actually booked another night. We stayed in a luxury studio, fabulous. Please note that the hotels.com map is WRONG for this hotel. It is near the Protea hotel and Waterfront Quay area. Recommend the Drydock and Bazala restaurants, both very good, especially the tempura crocodile tails!!!

Lovely peaceful guest house. With just 5 rooms this is like living as a local. Cooked to order quality breakfast at a sensible time of 0830 , nice little pool with decent sun loungers. Our sea facing room was superb . Other rooms are garden view. Free to use kayaks, range of bikes to explore the local area. Honesty bar and plenty of reading materials.
Thoroughly recommended.

The best area to stay in Hunter's Home is within the main residential area, particularly around the Hunter's Home Centre.
This area is primarily residential with a mix of guesthouses and B&Bs, offering a relaxed and leafy setting. It's characterised by its quiet streets and proximity to Robberg Road, which connects to the town centre and beaches. The Hunter's Home Centre provides a convenient cluster of shops and eateries for daily needs.
Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find this area ideal. It offers a sense of privacy and calm, away from the busier parts of town, yet it's still just a short drive to attractions like Robberg Nature Reserve for scenic walks and the main beaches for relaxation. Many accommodations here also boast lovely gardens, superb for unwinding.
For travellers looking for a convenient base with easy access to the N2 Garden Route, the properties closer to the main road on the outskirts of Hunter's Home are an excellent option.

This period is well-suited for those looking for a tranquil escape, perhaps exploring the local wine estates or enjoying leisurely strolls through the area's lush landscapes.
