Lovely guesthouse stay!

Posted 25-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Had a lovely stay at victor guesthouse. We were in a junior suite as we needed to add in an extra bed. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was okay. The beach is about a 20 minute walk away through lots of shops and restaurants. Would stay here again!

Interesting place with beautiful gardens and flowers. Nice outdoor water fountains and pottery and sculptures.walk to the beach and many European and local restaurants within 500 yards ( 300 meters ). The French manager spoke perfect English and was very gratious and hospitable.

Windowless hole...

Posted 26-Jan-2016 on Hotels
Room windowless. Advertised as "coutyard view", but in fact window permanently closed with shutter not letting any light through. Paint coming off from room ceiling. Not a single chair in room.

Busy Place

Posted 13-Dec-2015 on Hotels
Victor''s is in an awesome location. But it is a loud and busy place. Try to get the rooms toward the back, although that won't help with the thin walls. The rooms could use some cleaning from all the bugs that have been killed against them. Fred was very nice as was the staff over all...very helpful where they could help. The structural condition of the guesthouse was not their issue.

Basic accomodation close to beach and night market

Posted 19-Nov-2015 on Hotels
Walking distance to beach and night markets. Basic room, expect hard bed, minimal toiletries (only soap bars). Don't bother about the B$120 breakfast vouchers. You probably will have to top up for the FULL price for a decent breakfast at the restaurant. Skip the fancy restaurants and try the street foods especially at stores that locals eat. The only exception being Koong Tung near the night market where you have to eat seafood using your hands right off the table!

Good wifi

Cheap and cozy rooms. The big plus is they have fast WiFi, It's not a place I would stay a long period of time but great for a few days.

Room 43 not good

Posted 02-Aug-2015 on Hotels
Handy location. Good scooter rental, no need to check petrol or damage. Clean. Air conditioning effective. Hot shower. Television. Book swap. Breakfast not included. Room 43 not great. Plasterboard separates from stairwell. Noisy. Wi-Fi often not working. Water stopped. Only given sheet to cover. Pillows not good. Musty chipboard wardrobe.
