"Stayed here for 2 nights in a double room. I was very pleased with my short stay. The room is plenty large enough for two people and multiple suitcases. The bed is big and comfy. There's a mini fridge with water provided. TV has working channels. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower and all toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, body lotion). The hotel has a gym and pool, option for breakfast, and a bar. It's a short walk from the train station and close to the city centre with lots of shopping and dining options. It's also very close to the Jane Austen Centre and the Roman Baths and most of the popular points of interest for visitors. Overall, it's a pretty nice hotel in a good location. My only minor complaint is sound leak from the hallway but that's like most hotels. The front desk staff were very helpful when my adapter sparked and caused the power to go out in my room. They lent me another one to use instead. I would recommend this hotel for those looking for a modern hotel and a bigger space to stay. I would definitely consider staying here again if I ever make a return visit to Bath. "

"We booked the Grand Suite which was beautiful and comfortable with our own access to a private garden. Bianca at the reception was most courteous, helpful and friendly - she even helped us carry our luggage from the car. The hotel is in a great location with walking distance to the city center. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate Bianca’s hospitality. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Bath. "

"The Gainsborough has a beautiful spa area and is very centrally and conveniently located in downtown Bath. The hotel stocks all rooms with soft drinks and water in the mini fridge (a nice touch), and the breakfast offerings are excellent, including both a continental buffet with a cooked to order option. The bar area of the hotel is small and was not well stocked during our visit. Also, some of the staff seemed new and unfamiliar (although polite) with the property, but the concierge as well as the front desk manager, Howard, were wonderful, and made what was a good stay into a great stay. The concierge's restaurant and tour recommendations were wonderful, and the front desk manager assisted our party of four with an issue we encountered with a rude and arrogant guest. The professionalism he demonstrated in handling the situation was commendable. We will be back. "

"We stayed in room 114 which had a beautiful view over the river and fields - the most quaint English hotel (albeit with an Italian flair and great menu) - beautifully tranquil with a lovely continental breakfast too - thanks to all who made this memorable - we will certainly return "
