"Staff is great, room was clean and they have access to a laundry room. There are fees for the laundry room, but it can be very convenient. The best part of this hotel is how nice the staff is and how welcoming they are."

"My family and I always enjoy our stay at Hilo Hawaiin Hotel. The hotel is situated in an ideal location which is close to shopping, beautiful beaches and the airport. Hilo has become one of our family's favorite destinations as the atmosphere is so laid back and relaxing. My only issue with our stay that on our second last day of our stay, while dropping off my aunt at the hotel (my niece was in the room) as she was exhausted from a full morning at a cultural event. Both my niece and aunt were locked out of the hotel room. This occurred as a result of staff making an error in stating they did not require my credit card for the latter"

"Beautiful place right on the water with beautiful views, easy access to local shopping and gift shops, restaurants and things to do. The only issue we had was for the "Sunday Evening Buffet"... First when we signed up the night before we were told our reservations were set - but when we showed up we were not on the list. We had to wait for over an hour (the hostess's were kind and truly seemed to care that we were not on the list and did what they could to get us in - Thank you for that). The food was ok - nothing great to talk about - the service needed help (poor lady was running as fast as she could but never seemed to catch up so we did without drinks for most of the meal). Would we come back? Yes... Just not for the Buffet!"

"For an older hotel it is not a bad place to spend a few days... Nothing special but nothing really bad about it. Within walking distance of a lot of good sites, I (we) would stay there again."

"Nice hotel EXCEPT my resort view room looked over a large rooftop of gravel. Not the view in the website pictures. Busy location with shops and places to eat. Good on-site breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Asked for late checkout but didn't get it. Had to ask for temporary passes to use resort while waiting for evening flight and was given a wrist band for pool but not able to use a bathroom with it??? That was very inconvenient. Something about a system upgrade which was supposed to be seamless. Too bad it wasn't. Front desk staff just okay."
