"Nice clean refurbished superior king room, welcoming staff, good breakfast, easy parking. All you need plus a good nights sleep in a quiet location. Excellent value for the price paid. Looking forward to coming back soon."

"Great location at the heart of Carlisle and close to cathedral and castle, perfect for sightseeing. Lovely to stay in a historic hotel that’s beautifully maintained and looked after. Gorgeous high ceilings, stained glass, marble and wood panelling, so much better than modern hotels where everything is plastic. Perfect for a weekend break."

"The room, was nice and clean, lovely big bed, very comfortable, large screen tv. The fridge contained, fresh milk , + sachets of milk, there were a selection of Breakfast cereals, Kettle and teabags provided. The only badpoints were, the property was situated at a very busy crossroads, so lots of traffic noise, but quiet, as the evening went on, so had a very good nights sleep. The rooms are above the pub, but no noise, also very covenient for a quiet drink, and for having a meal from their menu. So overall good value for money."
