Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

"Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were immaculate. Breakfast and dinner was delicious, great selection for both although didnt get our drinks until we finished our meal. Downstairs bar was closed which was disappointing as had to keep going upstairs to purchase drinks while we enjoyed the games area. Could have happily spent all day in the pool area so relaxing well looked after, staff so friendly."
Crown and Mitre Hotel

"We were put on the 4th floor but the lift only goes to the third,we did try to get our room changed but as they were fully booked were unable to do so, So we actually went back home the following day"
THE ROADHOUSE

"The location was excellent, walking distance from town centre shops, pubs & restaurants. Hotel also had a car park and nice bar with a free pool table. Owner was very helpful with check in and explaining where everything was. It is not trying to be a luxurious hotel, but for a cheap room for the night to break up a long drive it was perfect for my needs. The only real negative I had is that the bed wasn't the comfiest but I still slept fine."

"The food is excellent i enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Room was very clean and the staff were all very helpful. Only one slight negative point...there was no shaver socket in the bathroom. Lovely location on the river and caught sight of some deer in the grounds early in the morning. I would definitely stay there again."
County Hotel

"Shabby but adequate for a couple of nights. Parking was ok for us but it could be a problem if there are a lot of guests. It’s first come, first served for about 25-30 spaces; there are other car parks in the vicinity. We didn’t eat there; it’s very close to the city centre and there is plenty of choice in the area. Room was ok but beds could have been made better as the mattress was visible at the bedhead but it was comfortable and a fan had been provided as it was pretty warm! Certainly worth the money we paid (as cheap as some youth hostels). Floors creak which disturbed us occasionally"

"Rooms were good, clean and big enough for a budget hotel. Hotel lobby is a little dated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast because we needed to leave early, so cannot comment on its quality."
