We absolutely loved this experience. The staff was so attentive and thoughtful and we really felt well taken care of. From start to finish staying at Yama-no-Chaya was an incredible experience for us. Thank you so much to the amazing staff who took such great care of us! Not to mention the space is absolutely stunning! We can’t wait to return.

Absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived to the property to the time we checked-out and left, 10 out of 10. Clean, well-kept, phenomenal staff that catered to all your needs, delicious food, and absolutely peaceful/restful. Highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional ryokan experience in Hakone. Don't miss out on the kaiseki either!!

The staff spoke very good English and everything was exactly as advertised down to the onsen and food. It was definitely the nicest room I’ve stayed in. I would warn there are lots of tourists so it can become very crowded. The place itself is in a very good spot and a short walk to downtown Hakone.
