"We loved our stay here! The rooms were gorgeous, clean, nice tea and coffee and fresh milk. The most comfortable bed ever! We had a lovely meal and a drink on the terrace looking out over the river, it was bliss! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was awesome, we had a great time, we'll definitely be back!"

"This Hotel building has soooo much character! It was a true delight and the staff were all so friendly and upbeat! Beth from the bar/dining room was especially fun with a great sense of humor! She made our stay even more enjoyable! Shebby (sp?), Waffi (sp?)) and Nevin (sp?)were also very fun and pleasant! "The hotel is located in a beautiful area, with stunning views. All of the staff were so friendly and the food was excellent from breakfast through to the evening meal. Our room.was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel. "

"Very Scottish decor’ for some reason. Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and coffee amenities. TV was working well. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I really liked their “free drink instead of housekeeping” option, which I absolutely decided to go for. Hotel is conveniently located to train station and a short walk into Kendal town centre. "
