Fabulous food and friendly staff - made for a truly enjoyable stay. Room had a sea view which was nice bonus - hotel is in a great location. Good value!

Robbie is a genuine castle owner who shared his home with just us .. its a lived-in home .. it has the basics , no fancy mod cons but...dates back to 1380, breakfast was the best we had touring Scotland , he absolutely nailed it with such a large choice just for me and my girl 👍 the Tour was very interesting also....meters to walk down to the beach....hes eccentric , the place is said to be haunted, but we loved the Quirky place .. we will definitely be back .. .. the period wallpaper is...

Warm and friendly hosts nothing too much bother yummy breakfast the rooms are immaculate….. cosy comfy beds what else could one ask for???? I added another 2nights to my booking as didn’t want to leave

Excellent nice and friendly place to stay

Our fist visit to Montrose. Lovely hotel which met all our needs in terms of friendliness, cleanliness, amenities and location. We had a very plentiful, tasty breakfast. Great atmosphere in the evening when there was a live band and a busy function suite. Have already recommended this hotel and this town to friends.

I was in room 4 (single room) where the bathroom was across a 3 foot corridor. This wasn’t an issue really, as I never saw anyone from the two other rooms on that landing, the only thing I did have to remember was to take the door key with me or put the door on the snib so I could get back in! Bed comfortable and room spacious for a single. Breakfast room & kitchen both spacious. Owners welcoming and pleasant. Would stay here again.

Lovely room. We had an evening meal in the bar and the food was excellent. Breakfast was included and there was an excellent selection of cold buffet and cooked options. Again, lovely and very friendly attentive staff. If you want a tranquil location then do go and you won’t be disappointed.

We had a room on the lower floor with doors out to a patio and table and chairs. Room was excellent. Large spacious bathroom with large shower and separate deep bath. Room was spotless and could not fault anything.

We had a brilliant stay at Tor Na Coille Hotel in Banchory and would happily return. The standout feature was definitely the team there, every member of the team was incredibly warm, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely made us feel looked after from the moment we arrived. The Superior Suite was gorgeous, beautifully decorated, so new, fresh and squeaky clean. Keycode access to main door and rooms. Ample car parking available. Check in online. Super comfy beds, plenty of sockets, charging points too. A seated dressing table and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The kitchen area was ideal, just perfect for having a hot drink and use of microwave, great that there is cutlery and crockery available. Shower room, again really nice. Very friendly hard working staff. I had a very good stay, and would certainly go back.

Welcoming for dogs - they provided dog towel and dog blanket as well as dog bowls and rubber mat. Great location and also right beside the bus stop too if you want to catch the bus.

This is a beautiful wee cottage did not disappoint in any sense. My sat nav was not the best and had problems as it just takes you to an area as opposed to the actual house. Would definitely go back for longer as there are so many areas to sit outside
