Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We checked in early in the evening. Staff were acceptable but not overly friendly. Safety not taken into account. Key cards given loose with the room number written on it on a sticky note.
Room was tiny… bed was clean. Soap and shampoo were the only amenities in the bathroom.
Breakfast was supposed to be included as per the Expedia listing. Staff argued the fact, I had to show them my email proving this.
Breakfast looked to be plentiful and fresh. I would have been impressed had I been told I wasn’t permitted to take a cup of tea up to the room for my partner who was feeling ill.
The older staff member at the desk in the morning told me it was because I may “spill it and spoil the carpet”. As a 50 year old woman, I’m quite capable of carrying a take out cup less than half full of tea, in an elevator without spilling it. The carpet wasn’t overly clean to begin with. The staff member eventually gave it to me but was still grumbling over it as I left the desk. He was rude when we left our keys… said we’d not given him our room number but had to retract when he saw that it was written on the card.
Very rough area, but close to the main train station which was important.
I’ve only given a okay rating due to location, linen cleanliness and what I assume was a nice breakfast.
