Appleby Castle
10/10 Excellent
"I have visited over 170 countries. This castle is in my top two or three most wonderful places I have ever visited. The castle is amazing but the main reason i loved this place so much is because the staff were beyond perfect. They made our stay something I will never forget. The food and wine could not have been more amazing. The live piano played at dinner was priceless. I will fondly remember this place for the rest of my life."

"As soon as we walked in to check in, you could smell how clean the place was, our room was immaculate, spoke to one of the staff who was in another room, and introduced herself and said if we needed anything to give her a shout, all staff were very helpful, breakfast next morning was delicious, overall a lovely little quaint pub / hotel, loaded with history, lived reading all about the history of the place"

The World Famous Tan Hill Inn

"We stayed at Tan Hill for part of our honeymoon and it was perfect. We stayed in Pennine view superior room and it was breathtaking. Spotlessly clean, perfect in everyway. Great choice of drinks in the bar, staff were fantastic. Breakfast was simply amazing. Great circular walk down to keld across the Pennine way"

The Three Horseshoes Hotel

"It was a good place for my American visitors to spend their first night in the UK. A traditional pub in a very attractive town. Dinner and breakfast were good. We found the parking area at the back of Morrisons. A bit tight but after some back and forth I managed to wedge the car in and didn't block anyone else."
The Charles Bathurst Inn

"This is an excellent place to stay. The food is very good indeed. We booked last minute, risking what the building was like. We don't like lots of stairs and there are lots. So if we go again we have sorted out which room we would stay in for minimal steps. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The building is built into a hillside, its old and very pretty. The location is amazing."
