"We arrived around 6pm and was told that the Car park was full (only 13 spaces) and we had to park in a public car park around the corner of the hotel which was free parking overnight until 9am. The bar and restaurant area was very pleasant and received a nice welcome from the bar staff, once we had our key (No6) we made our way to our room, this was a bit challenging as it meant walking up stairs as there was no lift being an old building, I sure we climbed around 40 steps going up/down and through the corridors to our room which as I have said before because we are both nearly 70 years of age. The room we quite large and at first glance looked ok but we soon notice that it needed a good like of paint, there was paint coming off the bathroom door and cracks in some of the walls, my wife tried to close the blinds but could not get them to work because of the amount of stairs we only went downstairs the once, The bed we found too hard and had little sleep. in the morning we went down stairs for breakfast and took our luggage with us as there was no way we could climb those stairs again, for breakfast we had a full English which was fine and again the staff were nice and helpful. to sum up the hotel is fine for a younger person of family but challenging for elderly people, please don't be put off by our comments as other people would find this hotel ok, this is just based on our experence. "

"Room was ok, staff was excellent abut the beds were very uncomfortable and lumpy. Also, it’s very close to a very loud night club so there is music playing until 3am on weekends. It’s an older building so you definitely hear your neighbors. Cute cafe but they don’t serve dinner anymore."

"Dust in A/C unit made both of sneeze multiple times before shutting it off. This is from someone who has no allergies and went into a sneezing fit. Needs a thorough cleaning. If you have a dust allergy, beware."

"Plus, clean spacious room with a patio door opening onto an outside area leading down to the river. Negative, soundproofing is non existent, you are at the mercy of who is in the room above. above you, the noise from the room above was excessive. Creaking floor (yes its an old building),"

"The main reason for choosing this hotel is the location, which is perfect, it even has good sized parking area. You will be charged a £100 fine if you overstay your selected time, even for a short period, so keep this in mind when paying for your parking in reception. Its an old property so expect the problems that come with that. But the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, the staff were wonderful and so helpful. I would stay again."

"Clean room picked riverside four poster . Not really a great riverside view due to flat roof . Water in the evening for the shower was like warm We did mention it and the morning it was sorted . Parking was good and easy . Lovely walk into the city . I thought breakfast was included and considering we already paid £215 midweek I think it was quite expensive without breakfast "
