"All the staff were welcoming and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. They loved our dog too - Toby who was rewarded with a welcome box and treats during our stay - even giving a sausage at breakfast. We can’t thank the staff enough, when we realised that my husband had left his wallet in the bedroom. The reception team contacted us and went above and beyond to send his wallet back!m. Both the housekeeper’s and receptionist are exceptional! The room was lovely with great pillows and mattress - something that’s very important to me and you don’t always get it from a hotel stay. The hotel is in a great location, next to the river and with lovely outdoor seating and a car park too! It’s great that you have a car park This was our first time visiting Blandford Forum as we our considering our next move and Blandford Forum is at the top of our list. "

"We were very happy with our stay, chose this hotel because of it's location, easy walk into Shaftesbury and gold hill, and next day to stourhead national trust. The room was very clean and everything worked ok but the room decor reflected the 3 star rating, but the bar and dinning areas were more like 4/5 star and also the food and service one of the best Sunday carveries ever, would return just for that, and then to top that the full English breakfast wow, that was definitely 5 star, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel has a large car park area which is shared by day visitors for restaurant and swimming pool which is free to guests, although the building looks a little tired we would use again because of the price, The only suggestion I would make is to separate the guests parking area from visitors . "

"The location is superb and convenient to get to places with ease. We were disappointed with reception staff upon arrival. No real welcome, no clear message of how to find our caravan (too busy having personal conversations). No information on how to use items, no clear message that WiFi wasn’t available although we had expected WiFi (thought we had booked a place with WiFi) explained we has a child with ASD hoping we would have been offered an upgrade but no…so don’t be blinkered that you have paid for luxury but definitely nothing luxury about their caravan. On the surface the caravan did look clean until we were removing sofa cushions looking for the bed - crisps, money, dust, fluff not pleasant. In storage outside old boots that’s obviously been left behind. No bedding for sofa bed, waited 4 hours then contacted out of hours, must say they were VERY good. Facilities on site were good and our 14 year old enjoyed the amusements. Again staff there were good."

"Surprised we were given a room with a disabled bathroom but glad we didn't have stairs to climb as we are OAPs. Room was clean and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Disappointed with breakfast. We opted for continental breakfast. Regardless of arriving just after 8.30am, there was little choice and quantity available. We noticed other guests who were waiting for hot food had already taken large quantities of the continental choices, to be consumed as a second course. Regardless of being entitled to all the food on offer, it seemed rather greedy to deprive other guests. Maybe more food should be provided. The coffee and milk flasks were difficult to use. Had to ask for help from another guest as no staff around. Toaster was ineffective as toast was hardly brown. Very disappointed and left the table hungry. "

"disabled parking 2 very small spaces in an enclosed courtyard quite tight .hot tub was out of order. lots of steps as well as the mentioned creaky wooden stairs. check-in is right opposite the swimming pool entrance in the same aera as club entrance so wet & slippy floor and crowded blocking access. room was drab and dated empty for the size .noise level of neighbours and any movement in hallway echoed. bed was very uncomfortable lumpy. shower didn't drain and overflowed. wooden toilet seat that pushed flush button when seated."
