"Overall this was a good stay, helped by the very helpful and friendly staff and the large, quite comfortable room. Oh, and the evening meal was v. nice on both evenings (if a little pricey) However .... my room (number 6) had a window that just would not close properly, which was concerning and a bit chilly. Also, the TV reception was virtually non-existant. I did ask, but was given some explanation about work being underway to do something to something on the roof."

"Brilliant location, fab room with quirky uneven floors and great sea view. One of the towels was badly stained, which was a bit of a shock. Lift is tiny! and breakfast okay, staff taking on the Marco Pierre White attitude in the restaurant a bit too much, we got ushered into breakfast by a finger rather than being spoken to, but over all, really pleased with the hotel."

"Staff are extremely friendly and efficient always helpful if you have a problem. We booked a cosy room which is clean and has all you need for a night’s stay. Breakfast is buffet and there are also freshly cooked choices too included with your breakfast package. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough bread - eggs cooked just how I like them! Staff were very attentive making sure you had tea and coffee not long after you sat down and taking any orders. The same can be said for the staff in the bar when we had tea and scones early afternoon and also again late evening with a cocktail. The only downside of this hotel is the parking. There are 12 dedicated spaces in front of the hotel which are filled very early by 11am according to the staff! The rest is paid for parking permits but there is no guarantee you will get a space. Last year when we stayed at the hotel, one road on the side of the hotel was still free of permits but this year this road has also been allocated permit parking. This is obviously not the hotel’s fault but does make it more difficult to find a space and of course there is the additional cost. But despite that we had a great stay."

"Rooms are fine but could use a bit of freshening. Our bed was comfortable and the location was quiet. The continental breakfast was a huge disappointment. Several things were not available and what was served was just okay. The front desk staff are superior and they were very helpful with any questions we asked. The location makes this hotel a wonderful choice but don’t expect great food."
