Top Foixa Hotel Reviews

Silken Platja d'Aro

Silken Platja d'Aro

10/10 Excellent
"The atmosphere at this splendid hotel was so inviting and peaceful that regardless of how your day was going you couldn't help but relax. From the spa-like bathroom with all the little extras, like a toothbrush and toothpaste, incase you'd forgotten them, to the comfortable bed, cute little patio area and quiet rooms. The lobby area had several comfortable little seating nooks, providing a nice place to read a book with a cup of tea or wait for a friend to grab you for dinner. The pool area and bar was a wonderful place to soak in the sunshine. The staff were friendly and helpful. I wish the pool had been heated (consider installing solar power heating in future maybe) as even in late Oct it was hot enough for a swim, but I enjoyed the lounge chairs and huge patio area regardless. The only other suggestion would be to adjust the room doors so they don't slam shut but otherwise you couldn't hear anything in your room. The hotel was clean, well kept and a little oasis on the Costa Brava. I can't wait to return."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Foixa?
The best area to stay in Foixa for most travellers is within the historic town centre, particularly around the Plaça Major and the streets leading off it.

This area is the heart of Foixa, characterised by its medieval architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and a relaxed, pedestrian-friendly environment. You'll find many of the town's key landmarks here, including the Gothic church of Sant Miquel and the remains of the old town walls. The evenings are particularly pleasant, with many small, independent restaurants and tapas bars offering a taste of local Catalan cuisine. Strolling through the illuminated streets after dinner provides a lovely end to the day.

For visitors who enjoy exploring on foot and appreciate a sense of history, staying within the town centre is ideal. All the main attractions, including the local museum and artisan shops, are easily accessible.
