"Cosy traditional b&b room above the pub itself, surprisingly quiet (never heard a sound) even though the pub below is a very popular place and full every night.
Nice breakfast, good evening meal, can’t fault the place. Patrick and the locals were very friendly, we happily chatted amongst them all evening on both nights we stayed.
All in all a very good time, would we stay again? Absolutely no problem at all."

"Wonderful period property, all modern conveniences, comfortable beds, luxury bedding, spotlessly clean.
Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments.
Website is easy to use, and informative, covers everything you need to know about the property and local area.
Jamie & Gary are fabulous hosts.
Highly recommend this establishment."

"Friendly but unimposing hosts. Lovely food, including the freshly made marmalade. The cooked breakfast was great with a range of cereals and freshly made toast. Off road parking. Lovely large room with emsuite shower."

"This is an excellent family run bed and breakfast in the centre of Tavistock. The room was spacious and even though the room was facing the road, I could not hear any traffic. The location was excellent and I loved the character of the road and houses.
I would visit again."

"Amazing place, people accommodation and food, and let’s not forget the farm shop! I won’t go in to detail just go stay there and see for yourself. Truly wonderful and will be back one day. Thanks Ian 👍"

If I can suggest to ignore any other negative comments / review regarding this property. Upon booking my stay, reading the other reviews I was alittle aprehensive. I should not have been.
Great car park on the side of the property, which was free. Lovely bar and restaurant and I received a very friendly welcome in. Even some of the locals in the bar gave me a friendly smile and nod.

Fabulous location and a really comfortable, clean and luxurious B&B. Our first floor suite was stunning - spacious yet cosy with lovely views. Lots of homey touches and attention to detail. Lovely breakfast, friendly owners - everything was spot on. We live fairly close by, but two nights at the Old Dairy really felt like a proper holiday.

Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old
Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again.
The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun.

My partner and I had a delightful stay here. We were well catered for by our hosts and found the room very pleasant, in good order and quiet. Personally we would choose a firmer bed, but appreciate that’s not to everyones taste or preference.

Graham and Annie (our hosts) were able to offer us any check time after 09.00. We actually arrived about 16.00 to be checked in immediately and shown to our room. The first night was a bit of a problem as the room overlooked the main road with a farm entrance across the road. The building is very old with thick stone walls and we needed the window open which was noisy with traffic throughout the night. On speaking to Graham the following morning, he was most apologetic and changed our room to...

This was just a stop over as we travelled to Devon but it was a lovely area and one we will consider again if we need to stop off. Chris and Sue were both very friendly, especially as we had to check in late. Breakfast is incredible! They were also incredibly accommodating for our little boy.

A two night stay to attend niece's wedding, excellent location with a plentiful public car park opposite. Our room was clean and tidy, well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings. A very nice friendly welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. Quality of breakfast was first class and very tasty with a good range to suit all tastes. Would stay again and would highly recommend if you are looking to stay in the area. Village had good amenities.

Fantastic overnight stay. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival by the owner who then took us to a great vantage point to take in the stunning views whilst giving us a brief bit of background history surrounding the building. We took our dog who was welcomed greatly. The staff on site were pleasant and polite and on hand to assist with anything we needed. Breakfast was great. Can't wait to return later on in the year.

We received a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and were looked after extremely well for all of our stay. The hotel is spotless throughout and is run by a family who want their visitors to enjoy their stay. Food is excellent and is cooked to order. Delicious!
Only slight downside is that as this is a small hotel, there are no lifts thus it is not really suitable for those with mobility issues as all rooms are 'upstairs'. For all other visitors, you will enjoy your visit.

Prices for B&Bs in Fitzhead often vary, but you can find a great deal from £57 with Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as location and the time of year. It usually costs more to stay at Fitzhead B&Bs over the weekend too. Travelers can find the best deals by being flexible with their dates, and by using our filters to sort prices from low to high.
When is the best time to book a Bed & Breakfast in Fitzhead?
The best time to book a B&B in Fitzhead is during the late spring and summer months, particularly from May to July. This period brings a vibrant atmosphere to the area, with lush greenery and an abundance of outdoor activities available. With the warm temperatures averaging around 20°C, it’s an ideal time for exploring the stunning countryside and enjoying walks along the scenic trails that Fitzhead is known for.
June is especially popular among travellers, as it offers long days filled with sunshine, superb for discovering local attractions and indulging in leisurely picnics. The village comes alive with community events, and the surrounding hills are a joy to explore, providing breathtaking views and opportunities for photography.
For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, consider visiting in December. While this month is quieter, it presents a unique charm with winter landscapes and the chance to enjoy cosy evenings by the fire in your B&B. It’s a wonderful time to experience the peacefulness of the countryside without the crowds.
