The Sheraton has a nice bar and the room was comfortable. However, the light was broken (very dark room) and the housekeeper didn't provide enough, towels, glasses and soap even after we complained. It has gone downhill since we last visited in 2019.

Coming back to this one next time!
Front desk service was excellent and the food was very good. Definitely would stay here again! Only issue was the room was not cool enough and we could not get the A/C to work well.

It needs updating. I have stayed at the property before actually this is my third time. For example, you need to buy a Wi-Fi and so many things were right. The breakfast hall, could not find certain things like wanting a fry egg. So many things.

I'd certainly stay here again. The service at the front desk was really excellent, the fitness centre was clean and enjoyable to use. The bed was very comfy. Unusually for me, I didn't use either the restaurant or bar, but when I needed some directions, the staff at the bar were friendly and helpful.

OK but old
An old hotel, a/c not functioning, broken shower head, the system in the reception is always down so it takes ages to check in and they can't change rooms etc. The hotel is by a nice park but otherwise away from the center. Very limited room service menu - during covid I would expect more than 3 items on the menu...

The three dishes are just a weekly special in addition to our regular room service menu which can be found on your TV under "hotel info". Check-in does take longer due to some Corona-regulations we need to follow. We did upgrade our Front Office System and the system was down for 3 days in order to implement the newest version. A bit like the 90s
The room decor seems a bit outdated. They are comfortable but the interiors haven't changed a lot since the 90s (or maybe that's the idea, IDK). Anyway, what bothered me the most was the lack of power plugs or USB plugs close to the bed. I had to move the night table, disconnect the night lamp to have a space to charge my phone next to me during the night. The rooms could use a bit of the modern touchups.

Ok, but not premium at all.
I stayed here for business, primarily because a colleague I was travelling with collected points with this brand. I had always seen this as a premium brand, and frankly was a little disappointed. The hotel was ok on the whole, but I've stayed in many that are better, for a fraction of the price. It was ok. Nothing more. I'd rather save my company a few hundred quid and stay at one of the other hotels that I've stayed at previously.

All good apart from missed cleaning
The hotel was as you would expect from a Sheraton. Room was nice and modern, quiet and well placed in Essen. I think it may have just been an oversight but the toilet had clearly not been cleaned and there were hairs in the shower. I arrived too late at night to be bothered to make a fuss about it but this let the overall experience down.

Hotel needs some repairs
The shower in both our room and our friend's room was absolutely terrible due to broken shower heads. There was barely any Kleenex left in the box. There were no trashbags in the trash cans. The room was cold but that was because I didn't turn the heat on. Breakfast was really great and the location is amazing. Overall this hotel needs management to pay attention to some small details (shower function) and it will be great.

Close to Essen Hauptbahnhof but not on city side
About seven minutes' walk from Essen Hauptbahnhof. Not signposted at all though. In a quiet area. Breakfast was pricey at EUR 20. Would have liked USB sockets in room. Range of TV channels could have been better. Hard to criticise anything. Very comfortable.

The Sheraton was / is always a guarantor for great hospitality, in a town (my home town) with less selection. Next to the Saalbau ( a place of culture) and its park in the back, a great place to stay, but service in some ways could improve. valet parking seems to be "unkown".. maybe not a local issue but if I have to wait 5mins, get my bar menue, and get my order paced after further 5minutes of no attention to me and my wife, is a of concern... (maybe the UEFA game was more exiting)... on the other hand, the staff at breakfast, fulfilled my wishes even before I expressed them. a great pleasure to be served like that. in a very polite way

Convenient but pricey business-oriented hotel.
Good business hotel in a nice part of Essen town. Surprisingly for a business-oriented hotel, there was no free wifi in the room and the breakfast buffet was a pricey 29 euros. Overall its a nice hotel with good facilities and very close to parks, cultural centers and major offices in the area and has good connectivity to the railway network from the nearby central station.

The hotel was fine, though there were certain touches that made it a bit uncomfortable. They don't have top sheets on the bed (though I guess that's a German thing). Our window stuck so we couldn't open it anymore, and the hotel started blasting heat. Other than that, it was a very nice hotel.

Great Location for Essen Spiel
The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful, the room a bit dowdy and musty but with windows open that was not a big issue. The room decor was not my style but again I am nit picking. Overall I would be very happy to use the hotel again especially if I obtained a club level room.

Aged and overpriced
This was our first and last stay at this hotel. It seems it was built in the 80s and has not been updated since. Parking is expensive, the elevator from the garage (if you can find it) barely holds two people without luggage (yes - its' that small), and despite having booked a king-bed we got two single beds. The one good thing was breakfast, although at 29EUR a pop it wasn't exactly cheap.

Stayed at this hotel twice both times for Christmas market ten minutes walk from centre shopping area very easy access to the main roads perfect and ample underground parking @€13 per night wellness area small but very nice would recommend this hotel to all age groups

Failed to perform
I chose this hotel because of the Sheration name and the deal on offer. However.... Dirty sheets, dirty cups and used coffee capsules on arrival. Not changed across two nights. Strange attitude over credit cards, demanding cards after the hotel was paid in advance. Very expensive internet at 19€ per day based upon 24 hour clock and not on a person's stay. The TV options and indoor facilities are poor and not maintained properly, making the indoor entertainment fairly useless. Expensive for what was 3 star facilities. A business hotel at best and not really geared up for a couple on a city short break.
