This is a wonderful hotel. Check in was quick, smooth and professional with a polite and friendly member of staff who showed us to our room personally. We stayed in one of the apartments which the hotel offers which was modern and spacious with a very luxurious feel about it. The beds were extremely comfy and the whole apartment was very well equipped. The hotel is extremely well positioned as it is conveniently close to the main train station and also very close to the central shopping area too. We really wish we could’ve stayed longer as this was the best hotel we stayed in during our Germany tour.

I arrived early and the staff were really helpful and allowed me to book in slightly early, then on checking out again very helpful staff allowed a slightly late check out. I can’t rate the hotel highly enough for location, price and cleanliness.

Excellent choice for staying in Essen
This hotel is very close to the main train station of Essen, just across the main entrance. The hotel is fully renovated, very nice standards and features with full service restaurant on site and sale of snacks and beverages at the reception for late arrivals. Very clean premises, friendly you staff, no smoke-filled corners. Yes parking available around the hotel , public spaces, however fee-based at certain times of the day, free at night until 8am. Staff is international, good English speakers seem to be always on the premise, too. Huge internet driven flat TV in the rooms, very calm, well lit floors, with room key secures elevator. Conference & meeting rooms avaible as I noticed. The surrounding area is part of the main shopping area with plenty of great offerings and opportunities to get stuff. At night the entrance is well lit, just beware, German train station areas do attack pan handlers, too. Security is not bad, but as in every major city around the world, better watch out. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this very homey place, as every function I needed (internet, calmness, clean spaces, hot water etc) was top notch as promised.

I stayed 3 nights on business. Location is very convenient if you need to stay in Essen. I found the room was spacious and confortable. Staff was good, check in and check out fast. I didn't try the breakfast because buffet was the only option and was too pricey compared to nearby alternatives. I would probably stay there again.

Comfortable, Convenient, Just a Little Loud
This is a conveniently located, very clean, very nice hotel. The only downside is that the area must be close to some bar as there was racket both nights I stayed at around 3 in the morning. Just take some ear plugs, and you'll have a great experience!

We only stayed one night in the Essenerhof Hotel, but were very pleased with the service received : a large and neat room, a very small bathroom however; excellent breakfast with a lot of choices; friendly staff and a very good price (probably a special weekend price) Would definitely like to return

Ideal location. Clean. Great receptionist
The hotel is ideally located for business travelers and tourists. It's opposite the main railway station. You can avoid crossing the wide street there by exiting at the City side of the station and going down an escalator marked Willy Brandt Platz. Bear right toward the end of the tunnel and you will be in front of the hotel. The receptionist was exceptionally courteous and helpful with directions about opening hours of major sights, tram and bus and train lines to reach the sites, and other useful information. The hotel dining room is attractive and, like the rest of the hotel, sparkling clean. The room was of adequate size for two people, the beds were comfortable, there was desk space and free Wi-Fi, a shower with a glass enclosure and good water pressure. In short, it was an excellent place to stay. We didn't take the hotel's breakfast, as it seemed rather expensive for people who eat just juice, toast, and coffee, but it's probably a good buffet if its standard matches everything else. We found what we needed for breakfast at the railway station via that handy tunnel. We would certainly use this hotel again on a later trip.

The hotel is well situated very close to the main station and transport hub and at the end of the main shopping street. Plenty of places to eat and drink close by. Free wifi in the room, safe in the room and spotlessly clean. The hotel is however a bit dull with no atmosphere when I stayed. Rooms are a little austere, in keeping with many German hotels, however you have everything you need and staff are friendly. Decent buffet breakfast too.

Excellent hotel, centre of ESSEN, across the road from train station, some minor noise on lower floors, all the rooms all have been upgraded, very clean, well stocked mini bar and all bathroom soaps, shampoo and body lotion there. Breakfast good at Euro 15 per person per night, even if a little pricy

Sehr gut mit der Bahn erreichbar, da sich der Hauptbahnhof in direkter Nähe befindet. Von der Straße kann man keinen Krach hören, weil das Hotel gut isoliert ist. Auch das Frühstücksbufet ist wirklich super.
