"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming, but what truly made our stay special was the wonderful lady who looked after everything. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and hardworking, and always went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. Her outstanding hospitality made us feel completely at home. She is a real credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay...

"Stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The room was relatively spacious and very clean, with nice quality cotton bedding and towels with a decent sized shower that worked well. Wardrobes were provided as was a table and chair - our room overlooked the pool, some rooms had balconies. The air conditioning worked well and breakfast was pretty good with various options. The staff were friendly and helpful with no undertaking too much. There’s a large market not far as well as lots of shops and...

Pickalbatros Palais Des Roses

8/10 Good

Hotel Prestige Agadir

10/10 Excellent

"One of the best stays I've had in Agadir! Hotel Prestige is clean, modern, and very comfortable. The location is fantastic - you can walk to the beach in 3 minutes. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. They really go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Great atmosphere, quiet, and excellent service. For this quality and price, it's unbeatable. I 100% recommend it and will definitely come back."

Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa

8/10 Good

"The hotel staff went above and beyond when dealing with any queries, they where friendly and easy to speak with. Upon arrivals we where given tea and biscuits. We unfortunately had ants in our room being the bottom floor I am assuming this is the reason. It was quickly rectified by the staff. But I think the room needed a more through expection in the future. Some of the room looked a little tired. But I saw staff making improvements to certain areas. The hotel is one of the furthest to the marina. Breakfast was good but nothing spectacular. But the food served at the pool was very tasty and better then expected. They provided a heated small pool for the kids which was a very good facility. The beach front wasn’t far from the hotel either."

Royal Mirage Agadir

8/10 Good

"We had a lovely stay at the Royal Mirage Hotel in Agadir and, overall, found it a great base for exploring the area. The food was good for a hotel buffet, with plenty to enjoy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is a little dated in places, and maintenance work was ongoing on the large pool during our visit. We were also disappointed to find that the gym and private beach beds advertised as available at other hotels were not available here. Check-in was easy, our room was spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The room also had a fridge, although there were no tea or coffee-making facilities. Luckily, we took our own travel kettle, so this wasn’t a problem for us. The hotel is a little dated in places, and maintenance work was ongoing on the large pool during our visit. The location is good for the beach, but be aware that there are quite a lot of steps to get down to it, so it may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or who struggles with stairs. Our biggest downside was the nightclub next door. The music was extremely loud until around 3am on Thursday and Friday nights, which made sleeping difficult. Overall a great stay"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in El Gouna?

The best areas to stay in El Gouna are Downtown and Abu Tig Marina, both offering distinct experiences for visitors.

Downtown El Gouna is the original heart of the resort town and is great for travellers who enjoy a central location with easy access to shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The area is built around Tamr Henna Square, a lively plaza with cafes and boutiques, and offers a more traditional, town-like feel compared to other parts of El Gouna. It's very walkable, with most amenities just a short stroll away.

Abu Tig Marina is ideal for those who appreciate a more upscale atmosphere and waterfront views. This area is known for its luxurious yachts, high-end dining options, and stylish bars. The marina promenade is great for an evening stroll, offering a relaxed yet sophisticated setting. Couples often find this area particularly appealing for its romantic ambience and excellent dining.

For families, Downtown El Gouna provides a convenient base with a good selection of family-friendly restaurants and activities.

When is the best time to go to El Gouna?

The best time to go to El Gouna is typically during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm, with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C. This makes it ideal for enjoying the beaches, water sports, and outdoor activities without the intense heat of summer or the slightly cooler evenings of winter. You'll find the sea great for swimming and diving, and the conditions are generally calm for sailing and kitesurfing.

For those looking to avoid crowds and potentially find better value, late spring or early autumn can be particularly appealing.

Where can I find the best nightlife in El Gouna?

El Gouna offers a few distinct areas for evening entertainment.

The Abu Tig Marina is a central spot with a concentration of bars and restaurants. You'll find places with outdoor seating where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the yachts. Some establishments here host DJs playing a mix of international music, while others offer a more relaxed setting for cocktails.

Downtown El Gouna, also known as Tamr Henna Square, has a selection of pubs and cafes that stay open late. It's a more casual area compared to the Marina, with some venues featuring live music performances, often traditional Egyptian or international popular music.
