"We stayed at this gem of a pub on the way to Scotland. The staff are all super friendly and helpful too. The pub has excellent quality food and wines too. My husband had the steak pie, I had the fish and Chips both were outstanding. We liked it so much we booked for the following week on our way back. They are really dog friendly too! "Accessing the hotel defeated my sat-nav (there is only one route in) and the property, once located, lacks kerb appeal. However, the proprietess was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and spacious though they would have benefitted from a more efficient heating system. for a pub in a central location, it was surprisingly quiet at night. Breakfast was cooked to order and was plentiful. For the price it is excellent value. A good place for an overnight stay. "

"Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "
