Good location for a weekend in Brighton
We stayed at the Malmaison hotel, Brighton Marina on Saturday 17th December. I had read some extremely negative reviews posted by other guests in recent weeks so was rather anxious as to what we would find. We were pleasantly surprised with our room (see attached photos). It was an inland room but was a very good size with a huge, extremely comfortable bed. The bedding was crisp, white cotton and we each had two large plump pillows. The carpet looked new. We loved the Ikea style furniture - the coat hangers were very stylish. Someone has obviously spent some time sourcing unusual design items e.g. the moulded chair and the rubbish bin, which was slanted at an angle (so clever). The art work on the wall was also eye catching. In the bathroom there were generous size shower gel and shampoo plus soap which we were encouraged to take home with us afterwards. There was a huge pizza style shower head over the bath with a powerful spray and lots of hot water. We each had large white fluffy bath towels plus hand towels. There was a good selection of drinks - tea (including herbal teas); coffee and hot chocolate plus two biscuits. Another useful addition was the option to buy wine, bottled water and crisp/snacks which were displayed on the shelf above the TV. Another nice touch was the complimentary i-newspaper which we picked up from the area approaching reception.
Yes, we could see that there are some renovations going on but overall we felt our room was more than fit for purpose
