"A Great & Inexpensive Dublin Experience"
I was spending much of Thanksgiving week at the Flyover and it was a fantastic experience. When I booked my flight, I emailed Tom, the proprietor, and asked if I could get an early check-in. Eventually, he did manage to get the room ready for me early after all! Myself and a few others were staying there to see U2 at the 3Arena (aka The Point Depot). The location of the Flyover was very convenient, the bus to Dublin Airport was right at the front door, while the buses to the city centre (Downtown Dublin) are across the street.
When I got off the bus from the airport, Tom was right there and gave me a warm greeting. He is a great guy and he gave me the info I needed to get around the city. There is a shopping mall just up the road called The Omni Shopping Park and it's a good sized mall, so I took advantage of that during my stay, haha. Overall, the neighborhood itself is nice and quiet, so at night you'll have a good night's sleep. You get a set of two keys when you stop in, one for your room and one for the front door, so if you come back late, you can still get back in with no problem (no such thing as a B&B curfew).
What I appreciate especially is the access to the kitchen at any time, with a nice selection of teas, coffee, or even a late-night cereal (that reminded me of home, haha). I never got to meet SallyAnn (his wife), but Tom was a great host. If you want a warm Irish experience in Dublin, this is the place for you. Highly recommended
