Temple Bar Hotel

"Comfortable hotel central to all key sites."
This hotel was comfortable and walking distance from all the key sites. There is a grocery store across the street and the shopping on Grafton Street was a 5 minute walk away. The hotel staff were very helpful at finding my way and it was great that all my luggage was placed in my room when it was available. It was also nice to have bottled water in the room. If someone is looking to be in the middle of a busy area with lots of food and entertainment choices, this is an ideal location. Visitors to the area need to understand there is street noise from the area so light sleepers should look for a hotel further away in a more remote area. The hotel provides ear plugs for their guests. Also, like most hotels in Dublin, there is no air-conditioning. It is usually not needed, but there is a fan in the room.

"Mixed"
Don't stay here if you can't tolerate night noise. It is in the heart of Temple Bar area. On the other hand it is close to Trinity College, Christchurch Cathedral etc. It has been very recently renovated - the decor is a little bizarre and it doesn't exude warmth.

Arlington Hotel O'Connell Bridge

"Central location"
If you want to stay close to the action, this hotel is for you. We found most everything within walking distance; famous pubs, shopping, groceries and tourist sites. The hotel itself leaves a bit to be desired. In north america it would be more like a two star hotel. It's old and worn. The bed we had although a king, wasn't very comfortable. The breakfast was 2 euros more than at nearby locations. One should keep in mind that the hotel is very old and has character. We would probably stay there again only because of its location. Oh, and don't bother showing up before 3pm. They don't want see you.

"Convenient airport shuttle"
We used this hotel as a means to get to Dublin Airport in early AM and it served it's purpose well. The airport shuttle is independent and serves a few hotels. It runs frequently (every 20 min. in early AM) and was right on time, the driver carried our bags, and we got to the airport in good time.
