The Annex: Cozy Haven in Ruardean Hill
Drybrook
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (1 review)
"This was a great base fore exploring the area. The annexe was clean and tidy although more suited to a family than 4 adults. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with everything you would need. Beware if you are tall as I hit my head on the hob and also the cupboard above the fridge. The beds are comfortable although short and bathroom is great. All in all there is everything you need, it's lovely and warm and the hosts are friendly. What more can you want."

"Absolutely wonderful stay. We were made to feel so welcome and well cared for. After letting the team know about our special dietary requirements (gluten-free), the manager was outstanding in ensuring we were fully accommodated — to the point that the service surpassed what I’ve experienced in some so-called 5-star hotels. A special mention to Evie, who was an absolute delight. Our room was clean and beautifully presented — a testament to excellent housekeeping."

"Great location less than a mile away from the M5 and off the main road. Wonderful guy on reception who made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and tidy. We decided to go into nearby Thornbury to grab something to eat. The bed was really comfy and we had our buffet breakfast in the Marco Pierre White restaurant in the hotel which kept us full for the drive home."

"Firstly fantastic staff. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely well stocked bar area. Fabulous breakfast. Very clean. Free parking to the rear of the property. Central location. We stayed as we were attending a wedding so didn’t really explore much but what we saw was very nice. Bedrooms were basic but this was obviously reflected in the price. Teas and coffee were well stocked in the room and had a good variety. Larger towels would have been appreciated. On the whole fantastic stay and for...

Frequently asked questions

How much does a pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook cost?
You can find pet-friendly hotels in Drybrook from £35 with Expedia. Staying at a pet-friendly hotel offers a convenient and welcoming experience for travellers who don't want to leave their furry companions behind. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for our cheapest rates.
Which area of Drybrook is best to stay in for pet-friendly hotels?
To find the best pet-friendly hotels in Drybrook, you'll want to focus on the outskirts of the village, particularly areas that offer easy access to the surrounding countryside.

Many pet-friendly accommodations are located slightly outside the main village centre, often in more rural settings. These spots typically provide direct access to walking trails and open spaces, which is ideal for travellers with pets. Look for hotels or guesthouses on the roads leading out towards Speech House Road or heading towards the Forest of Dean. These areas are quieter and less congested than the village's heart.

Couples travelling with pets will find these outer-lying areas particularly appealing. They offer a peaceful retreat where you and your furry companion can enjoy long walks in the natural surroundings. Many hotels in these locations have gardens or are close to public footpaths, allowing for convenient exercise for your pet.

For solo travellers with a pet, staying on the edge of Drybrook offers a good balance.
How do I ensure I have booked a pet-friendly room in Drybrook?
To ensure you've booked a pet-friendly room on Expedia, use the filters in your search and select "Pet friendly" under the "Amenities" section. This will narrow your options to properties that allow pets. Once you find a hotel you're interested in, click on it and review the "Policies" section for specific details about their pet policy. This often includes information about pet types, size restrictions, fees, and whether pets are allowed in all rooms or only certain ones. When selecting your room type, read the room description to check that its pet-friendly, as not all rooms in a pet-friendly hotel may accommodate pets. For added peace of mind, contact the hotel directly to confirm the room you've selected allows pets.
What pet-friendly activities should we do in Drybrook?
Drybrook itself is a small village, so the best pet-friendly activities are found in the surrounding Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, which are easily accessible from Drybrook.

For couples or solo travellers with dogs, the Forest of Dean offers a wealth of walking and hiking trails. The Sculpture Trail, starting from Beechenhurst, is particularly popular, featuring art installations along a well-maintained path suitable for most dogs. Another excellent option is the circular walk around Mallards Pike Lake, which offers both woodland and lakeside views. Many pubs in the area are dog-friendly, often displaying signs welcoming well-behaved pets, allowing you to enjoy a meal or a drink after your walk.

The Wye Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, also provides numerous opportunities for pet-friendly outings. Symonds Yat Rock offers stunning views over the River Wye, and there are several walking routes from the car park that are superb for dogs on leads. Another good spot is Goodrich Castle, where dogs are welcome in the grounds and outer bailey, allowing you to explore a historic site together.
What amenities should I look for in a pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook?
When selecting a hotel in Drybrook for you and your pet, look for amenities like food and water bowls, pet-friendly outdoor spaces and pet beds. You may find hotels that go the extra mile with pet-friendly dining options, treats and toys. It's also worth looking to see if there are any pet-friendly parks or walking trails nearby.
How can I save on a pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook with Expedia?
There are plenty of ways to save on a pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook. Join One Key™, our free travel rewards program, to unlock Member Prices across a range of premium hotels. Typically, booking in advance will help you save on your pet-friendly hotel booking.
Do any Drybrook hotels have restrictions on pet sizes or breeds?
First ensure you have picked a pet-friendly hotel by using the "Pet friendly" filter under the "Amenities" section in your search. If a hotel in Drybrook has restrictions on pet sizes or breeds, you will find this information clearly in their property listing on Expedia. When you're on the property listing page, simply click on "Policies" to see what pet-specific policies the hotel implements.
Is it cheaper to book flights and a pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook as a package?
Booking a hotel and flight package on Expedia can be cheaper than booking flights and hotels separately. Bundling can lead to significant savings, especially for international travel or when booking well in advance. However, savings vary depending on factors like destination, travel dates, and availability, so it's wise to compare options. With access to over 300,000 hotels worldwide, Expedia makes it easy to build the perfect travel package.
Can I cancel my pet-friendly hotel reservation on Expedia?
Many Expedia hotel reservations are refundable, provided that you cancel before the hotel's cancellation deadline. This is often within 24-48 hours of your scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. For maximum flexibility, use Expedia's "Fully refundable property" filter during your search to find the right pet-friendly hotel in Drybrook for you.
