Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing place"

LUGANODANTE Boutique & Lifestyle Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property was exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. The location was excellent, just a short walk from the lake and surrounded by great shopping opportunities, including luxury designer boutiques such as Hermès. The breakfast area and restaurant were both excellent, offering a lovely atmosphere and a delicious variety of food. We truly enjoyed the dining experience. The only downside, which may have simply been bad luck during our stay, was some construction work taking place in the street directly opposite the hotel. The noise started early in the morning and was a little disturbing. However, this was a temporary inconvenience, and overall, our experience was excellent. We would happily recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!"

Il Perlo Panorama

10/10 Excellent

"First of all, the staff at Il Perlo Panorma is exceptional. They were so accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We arrived and had booked the Basic Room. It was ok, but since it was our 20 th anniversary, we asked about upgrading the room. The Junior Suite was available. They handle our room switch while we were away, moved our luggage and the Suite was amazing. We literally didn't want to leave the room. It had a huge balcony with stunning views of Bellagio and the lake, wonderful amenities, smart lighting to make it extra cozy, robes and slippers. It was the best upgrade. For those wanting to know about the shuttle service, they dropped off and picked up regularly and were also so accommodating with fast communication. I would highly suggest staying here. The restaurant was also delicious. Thank you for everything and making our stay so enjoyable."

Hotel Funicolare

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed our stay. We were there just after the season ended so the restaurant had sadly just closed. But the town was still lovely, we were able to get food easily. The front desk attendants were always very helpful and nice and the hotel was lovely. The view is unmatched. Honestly I am still thinking about sitting out on the balcony looking out at the mountains and the lake."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dosso Del Liro?

The best area to stay in Dosso Del Liro is in the village centre itself, particularly around the Piazza della Chiesa.

This charming village is located in the mountains and offers a truly authentic Lombardy experience. The Piazza della Chiesa, with its historic church, is the focal point. From here, narrow, winding streets lead to traditional stone houses, small local shops, and a few welcoming trattorias. It's a place where life moves at a relaxed pace, and you're surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying in the village centre is ideal. You can enjoy quiet strolls through the historic lanes, savour local cuisine at a family-run restaurant, and wake up to mountain views. It's a wonderful base for gentle hikes or simply unwinding away from the hustle and bustle.

Families will also find Dosso Del Liro appealing for its calm environment and access to nature. Children can enjoy exploring the pathways around the village, and there are opportunities for outdoor activities like picnics in the nearby hills.

When is the best time to go to Dosso Del Liro?

The best time to visit Dosso Del Liro is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and the natural scenery is at its most appealing.

During late spring, the landscape around Dosso Del Liro is lush and green, with wildflowers blooming in the meadows. The temperatures are mild, making it ideal for hiking and exploring the numerous walking trails in the surrounding mountains without the intense heat of summer. It's also a quieter period, great for those seeking a tranquil escape.

Early autumn brings comfortable temperatures and spectacular views as the foliage changes colour, creating a picturesque backdrop for walks and drives. The harvest season also means you might find local produce and culinary delights. This period avoids the peak summer crowds, offering a more relaxed experience for couples or those looking for a peaceful retreat.

While summer (July and August) offers the warmest weather and is popular for lake activities on nearby Lake Como, it can be busier and hotter.
