"Excellent staff, overall, well-kept amenities and great restaurants. The food and drinks were great. Room was excellent overall - loved the wooden doors and finishings, very high quality. I prefer carpeted rooms and therefore this met my expectations and seems to be in decent condition for the age. Having the thermostat control next to the bed was an excellent idea. Loved to see the embrace of technology for cleaning and upkeep as we saw the robots cleaning the corridor carpets. Overall, a great experience but there is room for improvement and therefore I will proceed to state: The first room we were given had a serious musty smell. Upon reporting they switched our rooms but even the attendant who came agreed that this was unacceptable. Maybe there could be a review of this and air out the rooms that are not commonly used. The doors to the balconies could do with some work as both rooms we had to jimmy the doors open. Some nitpicking items are: Under skirting on the beds can be refreshed and the carpets in the rooms can be refreshed. This by no means is a deal braker as the overall experience was great. These are just slight renovation points that can push the accommodations to the next level. Hilton in Florida had a nice touch where when you check in and enter your room, the TV would be on with a welcome screen that greets you by name and gives some basic instructions on the hotel. I think this would be a nice touch for here as well."

"Reception staff were very courteous and helpful. Amazing breakfast and dinner with elegant, soothing ambience. The facilities were all great standard. The hotel's maintenance, cleaning and restaurant/bar staff were all lovely. Perfect location, less than ten minutes walking distance from the airport and Store Bay."

"The property is big and pretty well maintained. However, it’s about a 10 minute walk away from Scarborough and so if you do not have a vehicle, you are a bit stuck. There is nothing much around the hotel itself. Poor vegetarian food options. Some staff members are amazing and helpful while others seem disinterested. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport Slow in responding to messages (my experience interacting via Expedia messaging)"

"I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort. Considering the premium price we paid, the experience was far below acceptable standards. The property is clearly not being properly maintained. There were broken balustrades around the resort, and several areas were inaccessible because sections of the ceiling had fallen out. This created an impression of neglect and poor upkeep throughout the property. The room itself had a persistent musty smell, which made it feel damp and unpleasant from the moment we arrived. Things became even worse when we left the room and returned to find that something had been nibbling at snacks we had left on the table. Later that same day, we discovered a mouse in the room. After reporting the issue, we were relocated to another room just a few doors away, only to encounter the exact same problem again. To add to the disappointment, the beach was covered with large amounts of seaweed, making the sea uninviting and essentially unbathable during our stay. For the price charged by this resort, these conditions are completely unacceptable. The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast, which was enjoyable and offered a good selection. Unfortunately, that was not enough to make up for the poor maintenance, unpleasant rooms, rodent issue, and unusable beach. I would not recommend this resort and would not choose to stay here again."
