"I'd love to be able to give this hotel 5 stars. It's wonderfully dog friendly, the hotel size is not too large, so you do get to know other people who stay at the hotel. The retreat area with free coffee, water and cake is a lovely touch, and whilst I didn't use it, the dog bathing and bike washing facilities looked exceptional. The only thing that let this hotel down was the lack of air conditioning. We stayed during a heatwave, so sleeping was very difficult. There was a fan, but only a small one, which seemed quite old and dusty. It was difficult to get the fan to reach both of us in bed and the dog in his crate. If the hotel were to get air conditioning, or even just bigger/better quality fans, I'd stay again without a moment's hesitation any time of the year."

"Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. There was a glitch in the admin system which meant it thought I hadn't paid, paid again and then got to room, checked and went back to rectify and said it could take up to 6 days to refund. The room was boiling even though there was a fan in the room, they had no extra fans to help with the warmth which was nearly unbearable on day 1. The room was for 3 people but only set up for 2. You can see the effort they are putting into the hotel and they're doing a great job of it. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices. We didn't know the facilities in the spa were not working and we're not told upon checking in however the weather was perfect for the lido thankfully which is a lovely asset. Would definitely return but take an extra fan if hot weather is expected."
