The beach was beautiful with plenty of seating and always a bar near by. The staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The food, especially that from the restaurants over the buffets, was delicious! The weather was always 85 and sunny. I could not believe how gorgeous the ocean, sand, and trees were. Grounds of resort very well maintained. Check in simple.
Our room had a few things to be desired. Foremost, the water pressure throughout the resort is hit or miss. In our room, about 60% of the time we did not have hot water or enough pressure to use the sink, shower or toilet. Thankfully there are many other places to use these facilities and we spent much of our time on beaches! Late night room service had much to be desired.
We were , at first, disappointed with the room but quickly found that it wasn't that big of a deal. Enjoy the rest of the resort! Highly recommend springing for the "Royal". Royal customers have a private beach, infinity pool, better seating throughout resort, and access to exclusive restaurants.

Hotel was centrally located in Old Town SJ. Great neighborhood to walk around. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Their recommendation for Target car rental was spot on. Targets service and pricing was outstanding.
Our stay was like living in a 17th century Spanish colony. I loved the architecture and cobblestone streets, not to mention the fortress and its ever present wall securing the parameter. It was a very charming place and felt very European, yet American. We were approached twice on the street by locals seeing if we needed any help with our directions. The local cuisine wasn't great, but it was good. There were also many American brand fast food restaurants to choose from. We drove to the Cumey Caves and that was well worth the drive. It also gave us the opportunity to see other parts of the Island. I look forward to coming back to Puerto Rico as an alternative to Hawaii. This island is a good option for snow birds to visit.
