Brilliant attention to detail !! The owners treated us like old friends, and as it was or 34 wedding anniversary they had laid on various presents and extras. Thoroughly recommend.

This is a great place to stay in Torquay. We were met with a lovely warm welcome from the owners who made us feel very welcome from the start. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the owners couldn't do enough for us and our 1 year old. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely small boutique hotel near the quayside with friendly staff and nicely decorated. Very busy with a coffee shop and restaurant on lower ground. Being one of the oldest buildings in the town it has low ceilings, steep stair cases, beams and wonky floors! The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. A very lovely, clean and welcoming B&B. Debbie and Rich were excellent hosts, and provided tips on the various activities to try and things to do.An ideal location and easily accessible to the seafront and amenities.

The staff were so friendly and went out there way to make you feel comfortable through things such as a free nightcap before bed, lovely breakfast etc The room was lovely with again free little bits like sweets, was clean and had a tv with a DVD player in ( you could also get DVDs to watch in there little guest room where you could also buy drinks and play games). I was frankly amazed at the quality of Briarfields immediately I walked through the front door. Everything looks freshly decorated, neutral colours, spotless carpeting... My room (No.8) on the top floor looked like it had been decorated yesterday, a small fridge with fresh milk and a bottle of water, comfortable bed, good quality clock/alarm. The bathroom was spotless.

Really enjoyed our weekend away. The Charterhouse is within walking distance of the beach and the town. Perfect on a sunny day! Beautiful, well looked after grounds with outdoor seating and a swimming pool. Marion and Les are lovely and very helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We had a fantastic break, the hosts were perfect, the facilities great and we enjoyed the most amazing food. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a great range of local and home made produce and this was all followed by a mesmerising choice of hot food which included local produce. There was cake on hand all day along with fresh tea and coffee and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. Breakfasts lovely [ my favourite is the scrambled egg with smoked salmon ] Suppers also delicious. Good menu selection with Sea Bass & Rump Steak being my choices ( on 2 different occasions - - I should add.! ). Dog friendly - which is important if you want to have your pooches with you which we did. Allocated a downstairs room which is delightful with excellent shower & loo facilities. Would we want to stay here again. You bet !! PRB

Well worth the visit, fab location and lovely country hotel. The restaurant is worth a visit as great local food cooked to perfection.

The room was very comfortable, the staff were excellent. We loved the ambience and the food There was nothing we disliked except the proximity of the village church which insisted on striking every quarter hour day and night. It was an unusually warm night in October so we had the window open so I would advise using earplugs if the window is open.

Lovely walk to the beach and town, wonderful room and such a comfy bed just what you need after a long day
