"Everything about The George was very good but it is obviously in the midst of much needed renovations. I felt very sad because I grew up in the area and it was always such a popular hotel. However, we enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very helpful. Dinner was good, despite having to wait quite a long time for it. "Great hotel, nice clean room, a bit on the small side but more than adequate for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was quite nice with a decent selection of food. Staff were pleasant although I did have to ask twice for a receipt for a coffee I bought from the bar. The server inadvertently put the receipt in the till and went on to serve someone else."
