"We booked this hotel as it had a free transport to Edinburgh airport on arrival we found out that this service only runs Monday to Friday only we booked through hotels.com and this information is not on there site , unfortunately we occurred a fee of £28.00 to get a taxi to the airport , overall a lovely hotel with nice staff . "Staff are nice and welcoming However , i did call to the hotline on Public website to confirm any EV charger in village hotel Edinburgh and was told there are 12. When we arrive to the hotel , the receptionist told us the EV charger can only be used on this summer. Making us so frustrating and need to arrange EV charge to the nearest Morrisons. It is not too troublesome but it is not professional to give out incorrect information to the customer. For the House Keeping we have no idea how benefit it could be we need to put the sign before 11pm a night before to secure the housekeeping. Also the towel is not replaced but only being taken away from the room. And obviously the pillow cases and blanket has not been changed , we actually had a pillow fell on the floor and we wish a clean one to be replaced and finally we did not know which one is the dirty one. A green mug was found full of black dots and dust in the room but still the housekeeping did not aware and change it. No full size mirror in the room. No sufficient clothes rack for the clothes / jacket s , obviously there is an empty wall behind the door area that can have something fitted on. Insufficient charging point in the room or in between the beds The lamp mounted is not working properly. "

"The hotel is very clean, this was our second time here. Staff are all lovely. The spa was amazing, a relaxing massage on a Saturday morning probably wasn’t our best idea as we were far too relaxed to do anything else haha. We arrived on the Friday and there was a uni ball on so lots of young people it was very noisy as they all had to show id. However it was funny people watching. Who knew mullets and moustaches were back. The function was for around 300 so had door staff in attendance. No trouble that we seen just a young boy enjoying himself got a little drunk but was in good form. The door staff put him out a few times. I felt sorry for him so made sure he was ok. (The mothering side came out haha) We booked a table for dinner and went for the sharing tomahawk steak night. We were really looking forward to this. Looked amazing but unfortunately there wasn’t any flavour to it at all. We were a bit disappointed, however I said to the waiter that it lacked flavour of any sort, even the sauces were disappointing. The waiter was very nice and professional. I didn’t complain to get anything off our bill it was more to let them know. I’m not one for complaining but it put us off eating in there on the Saturday.we went across the road to the Indian buffet place which I highly recommend we had to be rolled to our room we had far too much. The waiter spoke to the restaurant manger and they deducted a small amount from the bill which was very nice of them. We will be back"

"Large clean ground floor room set in quiet surroundings. Staff were helpful and breakfast was very tasty. "

"The beds in our room were set back in a recess behind the window which meant that a strip of light between the curtains and the wall lay across our eyes from sunrise. So frustrating! Breakfast lovely and really diverse considering it was free but it was completely chaotic and almost impossible to get a sausage no matter how long or how many times you queued. Sign in the lift said the emergency button didn’t work and provided a number to call but couldn’t get any signal if we’d needed to. Room well equipped if a bit shabby. Really noisy from very early morning onwards because the flushing of loos made a really loud creaking sound throughout the whole building. "

"The room was clean as although dated. We intended to have evening meal but when we sat in the bar/restaurant area for 10 minutes, we observed utter chaos with no leadership of staff. The Bar person was uninterested with no urgency. The bar was full of unwashed empty glasses. No way to run a bar. We left and ate elsewhere. We would not recommend this hotel."
