Lovely hotel in the centre of Comrie. Staff super-attentive. We ate there two nights - food was exceptional on both occasions, and very reasonably priced.

Great Historic Hotel
What a cool historic hotel. I loved all the bits of history around the hotel. Parking was a little tricky since we arrived just as a nearby school was letting out, 20 minutes earlier or later and it wouldn't have been much trouble. Staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Food in their restaurant was some of the best we had in our 3 weeks in Scotland (and we had a lot of really good food). I would definitely recommend staying here, especially since its just a short drive from GlenTurret Distillery which was my favorite distillery we visited on our trip.

Molly Didn't want to leave!
Stayed for a few nights. Hotel is a little tired but that was more than made up for by the fabulous staff. They couldn't do enough for us, which made our stay very comfortable. Also very dog friendly, we have a dog Molly, the staff made her very welcome and she ate with us at every meal. The food was delicious at every level. Plenty of walks right next to the hotel. What more could you ask, in fact none of us wanted to leave!

Fantastic. Good food and friendly helpful staff. Even made my dog feel very welcome. Lovely place with a nice relaxed atmosphere. In a beautiful place aswell.

Cosy hotel
Lovely old fashioned comfort, friendly welcome and consistently helpful staff. The bedroom had a couch and books to relax with.Even our little dog felt immediately at home.

Thoroughly recommend!
Lovely hotel right in the heart of Comrie. Gorgeous building with lovely elegant rooms and common areas. Popular bar at the back of the hotel as well as quieter bar in the main hotel. Staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Wish we had stayed longer.

A great two days using TESCO clubcard vouchers. Fabulous breakfast, a good meal for 9 one evening in a lovely dining room. loved the lime and ginger products in the bathroom. The only slight negative was the bed was very firm and we woke early with delivery vans outside.

A Right Royal Visit
This was a very short notice stay so to get a room was a really pleasant surprise. We got Room 1 which was a nice treat even though we were not on honeymoon! Staff on arrival were helpful and pleasant and first impressions of the Hotel were very good even if staff a bit keen on repeating that various things were not what they normally did! Don't really need to know that. Dinner both nights was suoerb. Chefs really know their stuff and dining room service first class. Steak in particular was just amazing but all the food was brilliant. Top marks for quality and service. The Holy Snail Sauvignon is lovely. Bedroom very comfy. Carpet a wee bit wrinkled and old looking but cleanliness and comfort faultless. Being directly above the Square means in summer with window open its noisy in the morning but not much you can do about that. Felt hotel was maybe a wee bit understaffed but staff could not have been more helpful even if a bit stretched sometimes. Possibly hotel is getting used to people walking in off the street again after being so quiet or closed for so long. Definitely return for another visit. Quaint. Comfortable. Welcoming. Hospitable. Solid 9 out of 10.

It could have been better
For a charge of £174 I was dissapointed with the condition, this hotel is overdue for a make-over. Whilst the room was clean, the bathroom extraction didn't work, the toilet has to be flushed several times to clear, the wash basin plus mechanism was faulty resulting in very slow drainage. There are a lot of areas that need a coat of paint, the ceiling light shade has a portion missing, I couldn't find a mobile phone charging USB socket (the one on the TV didnt work), the bathroom window closure fitting is broken and the key provided to allow late entry into the front door didn't work from the outside. I have had better quality breakfasts from roadside stalls, insipid looking sausages, an egg that could have bounced of the floor, haggis that was so grease soaked I thought it had been deep fat fried, black pudding that tasted like it was cooked last year, coffee that would take the enamel off your teeth, enough said!. PS I was not going to say ought but you have now asked twice.
