"First, you can't check in till 5pm. Second, the shower is small and slippery when wet. When I mentioned that I'd nearly fallen twice and it needed a non-slip mat, I was told can't be done as this would be an admission that there is a problem. Plus, the light in the bathroom is on a motion sensor timer and kept cutting out leaving me in the shower, in the dark. It sounds comical but with the slippery shower base and total darkness, it wasn't funny. I had to open the shower door and wave my arm to restore light. Also, it says that shower-gel, etc, is supplied; One small bottle of hand soap. Third, the TV didn't work. Weak, or no, signal. The response of the manager on being informed: "It's probably been knocked by a previous occupant and anyway, we're replacing all the TVs with smart TVs." Fourth, they don't serve breakfast. Fifth, and worst, you can't leave by the front door in the morning but have to exit by a door that opens onto a flat roof, and descend to ground level by means of a spiral staircase which should be condemned as a safety hazzard. It's sturdy enough, but the treads are so small that I had to descend one careful step at a time as there isn't enough tread to allow the normal motion. Anybody really frail would have to descend backwards and supported from below. (I know whereof I speak having been a fireman and a builder subject to building regs.) Beer = excellent. Food = okay. Hotel is run in a way that serves the convenience of the manager, not his guests. "

"The house was incredible, everything was set up perfectly for us! We had a slight issue with a leak that knocked the power out but within 5 minutes of calling to report the hosts were straight over and ensured everything sorted! The only sight annoyance was trying to find the house. There are several Kingfisher’s in the area and the address took us to the wrong one! You’ll need to know the name of the lake this house is go figure out which one is correct :)We would 100% book again! Perfect for a girls weekend!"

"We all loved the hot tub and the peace and quiet of the Malachite Lakehouse. Waking up to the lake views was wonderful, especially during the quiet, peaceful mornings spent watching the birds on the water. The lake setting is peaceful and private, with amazing sunsets.The views out of the windows, both upstairs and downstairs, are absolutely stunning and really make the property special. The host communicated well and was responsive throughout our stay.One small note is that the open bathroom and shower in the master bedroom felt a bit unusual, but it did not detract significantly from our overall experience.Overall, this is a beautiful, relaxing lakeside property and we truly enjoyed our time here."
