"Lovely peaceful place in the jungle! Only the sounds of the birds, monkeys and insects. The cabin was very comfortable and the pool was refreshing. We especially liked the viewing platform for bird watching from a cooler vantage point. Zayro took great care of us!"

"The cabins are quite basic, but the setting more than makes up for it—beautiful views and a peaceful location. Ronny is an excellent host and very welcoming."

"This place is an amazing hidden gem. It felt so private is if you had the whole place to yourself. The grounds are stunning and the amenities are top notch from the communal areas to the full gym. I loved that the rooms themselves are renovated and feel fresh. I would come back in a heartbeat! "

"A good spot to chill out, where the jungle meets the sea. Expect insects, howler monkeys, snakes and exotic plants and birds and its just a minute walk to lagartillo beach which is beautiful and quiet. Juan and his staff are very helpful. "

"Hotel Riu a wonderful place to stay with family. The room was clean, amenities were nice. The only observation we had was some restaurants were closed, and due to the food was great, reservation to restaurants will be highly suggested. But nevertheless, our stay was perfect."
"This is a great resort, my family had a wonderful time! The kids loved the pool and the activities. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, especially Jose and Priscilla who made my kids feel like family.
The beach is beautiful, not at all crowded and has amazing sunsets (Tip: the security guards will set up beach chairs for you if you ask).
We did the all-inclusive package and it was absolutely worth it. The food was much better than I expected and we took advantage of the other amenities that came with all inclusive.
I highly recommend, and will definitely be back."
"The resort itself was ok, decent food options and the pool and property was kind of nice...however the room was trashy and outdated. bathroom smelled like sewer after day 1, TV was crooked, little things like this....WHICH could have been corrected or fixed however the hotel staff and management were absolutely useless! we went to the front desk multiple times, called for manager, and emailed many times but got no help or recognition. Also this was on our honey moon which we made clear. They gave us some free wine which we could've got downstairs since it was all inclusive, and decorated our room with balloons like a kids birthday party, which was thoughtful I guess but kind of embarrassing and I would have preferred them to do nothing. Honestly the fact a manager or some sort of supervisor couldn't talk to us and acknowledge our complaints while we were there was absolutely pathetic. I will avoid all RIU resorts going forward due to this experience. Terrible hotel staff, thank god we were at KIONO in LaFortuna before this which was wayyy better, go there instead."
"Arsenal Manoa was the 1st of 4 places my hubby and I stayed in Costa Rica. It was everything we hoped for and more! We got a Private Chato Suite with private pool in May of 2026. Absolutely amazing! We loved the room, loved the private pool we could customize the water temp overlooking the volcano, the people were fabulous, the breakfast buffet was insane, the hot springs tubs were everything we were hoping for, the resort pool was clean & big & having a swim up bar was EVERYTHING!!
When we go back to Costa Rica, we would definitely go back here! Would want to stay at least 6 nights instead of 4!
Sky Adventures zip line and hanging bridge tour with private tour guide was amazing! The food at Sky is fab!
Wish we did the waterfall tour! We heard so much about it from other travelers. We will do it next time!
We also didn’t take advantage of the spa, which is located on a river. Next time!
When we went in May, the resort was at half capacity, which we LOVED! Many times in the big hot springs pool and resort pool we had it mostly to ourselves.
The staff were all amazing! Great drinks and loved happy hour which was 2 hours,
Can’t say enough about this place! I am a picky person, and was totally satisfied and above satisfied! 💕😎"
"I highly recommend at least a two day stay at this resort if you are headed from San Jose to Fortuna. It was lush jungle, felt luxurious, breakfast was great and the hot spring pools relaxing. We only stayed one night unfortunately so we didn’t do any of the offered activities. But we felt highly taken care of and special. The staff addressed us by our names which gave it such a personal touch. We saw some wild life on our own. A couple sloths and motmots and a few other really pretty birds. My favorite part was lounging in the hammock on our front porch. We stayed in the standard room. It was in a row of about 10-20 other little cabins but it was very private! The beds were firm but high quality and comfy. Nice coffee and drinking water available in the lobby. We had dinner at the restaurant because it’s a bit of a drive to find food in town. It was good but about $100 usd for the two of us. I’d definitely come back and stay longer."
