"Trenderway Farm...magic!"
What an absolute gem of a place! My girlfriend and I recently stayed for two nights, having been camping for two nights prior to our stay further West in Cornwall (near Penzance), and Trenderway was just the 'comfort' aspect of our holiday that we needed! Extremely cosy and with all the rural idiosyncracies that make a place like that special to us...friendly dogs, cats and ducks wandering around, wonderful view from the breakfast area (textbook "Green and pleasant land"), still a working farm feel, and finally very tastefully decorated authentic farmhouse-style rooms and surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff to round it all off.

"Out of the way place"
Our room was 306 and this had a sea view and was very compact with large double bed and bathroom (could do with upgrading ) the problem we found was that it was noisey due to a pump noise (central heating ? ) coming on every two minutes ,the staff are very good but a little slow as most are new to this place.. The food is good and a large range of drinks can be had ,would we stay here again maybe but in a different room(hopefully a bit more quiet) .Lots of extra little touches Night time hot choc drink, little cakes on your tea /coffee tray ,bottle water when you leave, blankets for you when you sit outside, plus a few others

"thoughtful and comfy touches"
When we arrived we were greeted by a smiling Steve who proved to be very hospitable. He helped us with our bags and showed us to our rooms. The room was just as if we were in our own home; clean, very welcoming, warm and inviting. The towel warmer was much appreciated and there was a tea kettle with cups and butter cookies as a snack. Shortly after we settled in Steve was very thoughtful in that he asked if we wanted anything to drink. He immediately brought up milk and water and placed them in the refrigerator on the landing available to all guests. He told us where we could find restaurants within a three block walking distance and recommended a few. Breakfast was served between 8am-9am. If we wanted to eat earlier he was willing and able to accommodate us. The breakfast menu offered hot and cold options; a variety suitable to any guest's preference. Steve was waiter, cook and bottle washer. He served us a hot breakfast which he brought to us within 15 minutes of our order. My only regret was that we were not able to stay longer.

Pocket Guide: Romantic Hotels in Cornwall

Home to picturesque, quaint villages, unspoiled moors and epic coastlines, Cornwall is surely one of the most romantic counties in all of the UK. Whether you're embarking on an adventurous winter walking trip, a surfing break or are just looking to chill out on a sandy beach, Cornwall's an ideal place to take your holidays. To complete the package, Cornwall's blessed with a wealth of romantic hotels, suited to couples of all kinds.

    Sample Lively Newquay

For couples who enjoy the buzz of a bustling town, Newquay is the obvious choice. The north coast town is among the most popular in the county, offering a memorable medley of independent shops, lively bars and fine beaches. Due in part to its popularity with tourists, Newquay's home to plenty of exquisite restaurants, ideal for couples in search of something special. To counterbalance the town's busy atmosphere, consider staying in one of Newquay's spa hotels. The Headland Hotel and Spa offers easy access to the town centre and tranquil, panoramic views across the ocean.

    Explore the Tranquil South

Cornwall's south coast is home to some astounding natural beauty. Where the north offers wild surf and rugged cliffs, the south is all about tranquillity. Fittingly, the south is also home to some of the best spa hotels in Cornwall, making it the ideal place to head for those in search of total relaxation.

The Carlyon Bay Hotel is in a peaceful location, just outside the popular town of St. Austell. As well as offering superb views over the Channel, the hotel houses a range of stellar facilities. Guests can expect a tennis court, fitness centre, spa and even a golf course on the site.

    Intimate Bed and Breakfasts

The intimacy offered by a bed and breakfast is often ideal for a romantic break. Not only does opting for a smaller type of accommodation offer guests a good level of privacy, but it also offers the opportunity to get on more personal terms with the staff. Staff members' local knowledge can be a huge help when you're planning what to do with your days during your stay in Cornwall.
