Where to Visit by Car in Banff National Park
With a hire car, Banff National Park is easy to travel around. The Trans-Canada Highway, also known as Highway 1, crosses the park, and you’ll find you’re on Highway 1 a lot as you head out exploring, but you might find it hard to leave, what with the beautiful Bow River rolling along beside you. Voted one of the world’s most scenic highway, Highway 93 North, of the Icefields Parkway, takes you out through the wilderness and up to the Columbia Icefield. Take a picnic and stop off at Crowfoot Glacier or Bow Lake and drink in the stunning landscape.
If you are flying into Calgary International Airport, you can pick up your car there and drive straight to your hotel in Banff National Park. Alternatively, hire a car in the town of Banff, in the heart of Banff National Park. Pre-booking your car is a good idea as you could save money by doing this and you’ll be sure to get the car of your choice.</ p>
