"Lovely comfortable flat with lovely seaside decor. Amazing view of the sea. Close to everything you need. Parking is tight but they do warn you of this, so it wasn’t a surprise. There is some noise from the road as there are traffic lights outside the bedroom window and it’s near the theatre so some noise from there. But it did not affect our long weekend break and we had a wonderful time and would go back."

"The property is an amazing old building right in the centre of town, opposite the fossil museum and a very short walk to the beach As others have mentioned it is directly above a burger restaurant, which didn’t pose an issue other than an overwhelming smell of old cooking fat in the communal entrance although isnt noticeable upstairs in the apartment The place was perfectly clean but the sofa has seen better days and the main bed was very uncomfortable. "Location is everything for this property, right on Broad Street, next to the shops and an easy walk to the beach. For this we found it perfect. However the property itself could do with some TLC. The steps leading up to the property are shared but are not the greatest first impression. All it would take is a good sweep and tidy up. "All the staff were very polite and helpful. They went out of their way to be helpful. All the rooms in the hotel were very clean. The food was excellent. Varied and well cooked and great presentation. Lounge was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had lots of variety and served quickly. It was nice having a concierge to park the car for us."

"I had a single room, which actually didn’t have a view (2 x frosted opaque windows) BUT the room was very clean and comfortable. It was also quiet (exception of seagulls at 5:30 but that’s outside the hotels control) Bed very comfy, en-suite all good. Breakfast was really good, all good quality produce in the full English and a lovely bowl of porridge for starter. Staff all very friendly Would definitely recommend and stay again although if you want a view and there are some great rooms with views make sure you ask. Sidmouth itself is a lovely Regency Seaside town which is full of period character and really well looked after."

"Lovely check in by Bryony who even looked up where we had stayed on previous occasions and found us a great room which was appreciated. Dave who was helpful to everyone recognised us at breakfast, again great feeling . Quality Breakfast set us up for the remainder of the day. Plenty to do in the area and on one day we went to Teignmouth on the famous scenic coastal rail journey. We usually go to Lympstone on the short rail journey and fitted this in too. Outdoor pool was open when we arrived (early) and it was warm and sunny. We've managed to stay and comfortably use the outdoor heated pool last couple if years in mid /late September We also used the indoor pool and enjoyed the spacious grounds and short cut to and from the beach. As usual with the Devoncourt's policy you can use all facilities on last day of your stay too. Staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful"
