True, it is a hotel. 2 day get away find the hotel address anywhere one the si Clean room with nice bathroom which appears newer than bedroom. Bring your own toiletries! Our bathroom had 1 hanging robe and one bar of face soap. Didn’t notice if there was a hair dryer. Food very good and big portions.Tasty cocktails served in glasses ½ sized from any we’ve seen. Restaurant service prompt service. (2 weeknights) check in easy. The bad and the ugly. Bar and restaurant was pretty empty shouldn’t be stressful. The Hostess, servers, bar tenders etc. never smiled. Their expressions ranged from stoic to downright miserable! Uncomfortable and off putting! It wasn’t one incident. All

Had an excellent stay at the Gwen. Great location, very modern and clean, comfy bed, outdoor terrace was a plus. Cool vibe all around. Loved that the bathroom had a big tub separate from a walk in shower. It was very quiet at night. No complaints what so ever.

Our flight arrived very early in the morning. When we reached the hotel we expected them to store our luggage and let us know if our room would be available before the “check-in” time. We were greeted by Russell. He was kind, friendly and personable. He took the time to ask if we were members, which we were, and adjusted our reservation so we would receive points. He spoke to my husband and I like we were friends. He was very welcoming and considerate after our very early morning, he is a wonderful piece of your organization. To our surprise, Russell informed us that he had a room available and that we could go up right away. That has NEVER happened to us! The room Was very nice. We had some issues w a couple of the outlets and lighting but overall it was nice and the bathroom was great. I felt the hotel itself could be a bit more updated. I also felt the curb appeal when we entered on Rush Street was very dull and uninviting. To be honest, when we first arrived I was concerned! Overall I would rate the hotel 4/5. The location was perfect for us. The staff was exceptional. The hotel rooms were extremely quiet and the lounge area was a constant gathering. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel due to other plans/obligations and reservations. With that said I cannot say anything about the amenities . I would stay there again if and when we get back to Chicago.
