"We loved our stay at the chateau. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. While they do not offer room service, I was able to get coffee each morning from the front desk. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious. We were within an hours drive of spectacular scenery and loved returning to the chateau each night. We didn’t find restaurants in the town, but we had lunch in lovely towns during the day and had picnic dinners on the grounds of the chateau in the evening."

Petit Hôtel Confidentiel

Old Town

10/10 Excellent

I have stayed in many high end hotels throughout the world and I have to say that this experience was superb from start to finish. Staff could not have been more professional and helpful. The room was superb and the setting was also great. All rooms are individually designed and the building dates back to the 15th century, so is characterful in many regards. If you're in Chambéry and you want a really good place to stay, I would strongly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back north. The hotel is lovely and the rooms very comfortable, the restaurant was closed whilst we were there but the bar serves a nice selection without needing to go out. The hotel is ideally positioned to visit Annecy or do what we did and visit Mont Revard with outstanding views of the lake right next to the hotel, the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is good with enough choice to fill you up and there’s coffee available in...

A large, multi-story building with a symmetrical facade, surrounded by well-maintained lawns and hedges.

Hôtel des Eaux

Aix-les-Bains City Center

10/10 Excellent

Hotel Des Eaux is a converted mansion set about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and about 25 minutes from the lake. Although set on quite a busy road, there is little or no noise from traffic overnight. Easy parking on site. We were welcomed by a very pleasant and helpful receptionist who spoke good English. She took the time to accompany us to our room and made sure everything was good. Room was spacious with high ceiling , a good king bed and a good size shower room and a separate...

Chateau des Comtes de Challes

Challes-les-Eaux

10/10 Excellent

This is a beautiful old place with great charm and ambience. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with great beds and bathrooms and lots of little amenities. The customer service was above and beyond normal levels of service. One example (and there were many): When we arrived after a 7 hour drive with no food, the receptionist fixed us up with wine and cheese on the patio even though the restaurant wasn't open. It went on from there. They simply couldn't do enough for their guests. It makes you...

Le Chateau De Candie

Chambery

10/10 Excellent

We booked ourselves in mainly for the restaurant and we did have a superb meal! Service and food were outstanding. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We did arrive via an industrial estate on the outskirts of Chambery and did have a panic when sat nav was telling us we were less than a mile away. However it very quickly becomes rural and the setting is lovely when you are in the grounds. Our big complaint is that this is a 4 star hotel, however there is no food made available on a Sunday...
