The best area to stay in Castellet is within the historic village itself, particularly around Plaça Major and the streets immediately surrounding the Castellet Castle. This area is the heart of the village, characterised by its narrow, winding mediaeval streets and stone-built houses. It's a remarkably well-preserved example of a Catalan mediaeval village, offering stunning views of the Foix reservoir and the surrounding natural park. The Castellet Castle, a prominent landmark, sits at one end of the village, and the area is easily explored on foot. For couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape, staying within the village offers an exceptional experience. You'll find boutique accommodations located amongst historic buildings, often with terraces overlooking the reservoir. It's great for leisurely strolls, enjoying local cuisine at small restaurants, and appreciating the peaceful beauty of the region.Families with older children who appreciate history and nature will also find the village centre appealing. The quiet streets provide a relaxed environment, and the proximity to the Foix Natural Park offers opportunities for gentle hikes and exploring the natural surroundings.

The best time to visit Castellet is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for exploring the village and its surroundings without the intense heat of summer. You'll find the vineyards lush in spring and vibrant with autumnal colours later in the year, which is superb for scenic walks and wine-tasting tours. For those who enjoy outdoor activities like cycling or hiking, the milder temperatures in spring and autumn are much more comfortable.
