"The Hen House was lovely! It really was pretty, comfortable and finished to an incredibly high standard. The estate is beautiful and we happened to stay during a midsummer fair, which was fantastic. The hot tub was in dire need of a deep chemical clean. The tubes connected to the fire were leaking bits of dirt. Also the check out time being 10am is quite early when it is self catering and you’ll also need to pack a car. Overall I would highly reccomend a stay here. "

"On the whole it was a good stay. But when we ate at the restaurant they included a gratuity on the bill but then asked me to press an option on the card machine as if to intend to be given another tip on top of what I already was paying for. "Good place to stay. It is what I was expecting and the staff were great. I booked an included breakfast which was pretty good. We ate at the restaurant one night and good value and convenient. The property is quaint and not new...but with character and pretty well looked after. it was one of my favourite places to stay on our UK trip. The property could benefit from a few upgrades in terms of some landscaping around the mobile home next to the hotel (whI I think is part of the same proerty) and a canopy at the east end of the hotel to hide the view of the rubbish bins and other unsightly items from windows facing that way. Also, the hotel advertises air conditioning which I didn't see any evidence of in the room, so keep that in mind when considering this property. That said, the highland nights were cool (even during the heatwave that was happneing downs south in England at the time) and opeining the windows was plenty cool."
