One night stop whilst visiting family. Just a fairly average hotel, nothing to complain about but facilities and pool a little dated. Didn't have time to check out the golf facilities.

a good hotel for leisure and golf

Posted 12-May-2016 on Hotels
A very nice hotel, especially having golf course in the grounds, very comfortable and helpful staff. Our only slight niggle was no aircon in the bedroom and a window that only opened slightly, it was uncomfortably hot. Also an extractor fan on the flat roof by our room made a din all night, but would stay there again and would recommend.

Great location.

Our room had no view, but we were not there for that. Very friendly check in and out. Large room, bathroom and bed. Very close to the A1M, very close, but the noise did not come through. We did not use the pool. Walked to the start of the golf course, nice grounds. 6 minutes from Girton College where the Wedding was that we were at. Added bonus of a very small live caterpillar on my lettuce leaf in my burger, I let it go in the bushes outside. Good choice at breakfast.

Good for Cambridge

Posted 04-May-2016 on Hotels
Excellent local bus service every 20 mins to central Cambridge. Main Reception areas rather dated but room was modern and clean. Spa facilities good. Childrens pool but main leisure pool has a deep end! Hotel in a quiet area despite being close to A14. Staff extremely helpful.

Uncomfortable Beds

Decent hotel but it was let down by an uncomfortable bed, I hardly slept as the bed was too hard. I would not stay again.

Hallmark Hotel in Bar Hill, Cambridge

Posted 08-Feb-2016
Pros: For me it was convenient for a course I was doing in Madingley and close to a huge Tesco! It was a good price and served a purpose.
Cons: They could improve the quality of the beds and bedlinens.
Location: Cambridge is close by - a 15 minute drive into the centre. Free car park at hotel and Tesco very close. Pretty surrounding area to visit.
This hotel is convenient if you have a car but not if you do not. It is ok but the beds are not great and the pillows are awful. It is not a bad price and the breakfast is good. It also has a very good gym and nice pool. Overall I would say that this hotel is perfectly fine it is just that the bedrooms are ok but not of a 4 star standard. Also on weekends there is always noisy groups who seem to come back to their bedrooms in the early hours which is rather annoying. The staff are friendly though. It takes about 15 minutes to drive into Cambridge so long as there is no traffic.
