Good place on the outskirts of Cambridge

Posted 03-Oct-2015
Pros: Comfortable room, good breakfast, good wi-fi
Cons: Service in the bar can be improved. While menus were on the tables - one had to go to the bar to order. Frankly, staff were slow and not attentive.
Location: Outskirts of Cambridge - on site golf, and all of Cambridge.
Overall, a very good place to stay in the Cambridge area. Room was comfortable, beakfast was excellent, good (free) wi-fi signal, location was good although one does need a vehicle. When we went into Cambridge, we thought the hire car was reasonable - 13GBP. Staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. There were many activities available - a golf course and fitness center/pool. However, Because of our schedule, we did not have the time to use those facilities. Would likely use again.

Good out of town location

Posted 16-Aug-2015
Pros: the pool
Cons: The computer system or staff training in it so that they can check people in and out faster and know where the rooms are
Location: beside main road
Staff were slow and unable to find a room away from traffic noise

Lovely hotel...close to everything.

Posted 12-Aug-2015
We loved our stay. The hotel had everything we needed, from an indoor heated pool and hot tub to lovely breakfasts, dinners and room service. The staff were lovely and it's location was wonderful. It even has a huge Tesco five minutes away which was great for unplanned necessities. They even have a whole floor devoted to clothing which was perfect for when the weather turned cold. We will definitely be staying there again.

expensive for what it is

Posted 05-Aug-2015
hotel was okay. Pretty drab. Everything was clean. No character. Boring. Could easily have chosen a premier lodge for the same stay. However, the pool made it! The sauna, steam room and over chlorinated jacuzzi also helped. But a child's pool made it worth it in the end. Would not choose this again unless my child was with me!

Welcome retreat

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Most things. Staff in the restaurant and bar were very friendly, helpful and efficient and the food was good. Young man on reception was very good too
Cons: Television in the room. We could only access most but not all of the basic channels which was clearly a recurring problem in a number of the rooms.
Location: Extremely convenient for a host of leisure activities including Cambridge, the Fens and numerous nationally famous bird watching sites.
We stayed for six nights b and b eating and drinking in the bar on a number of occasions and used it as a base for daily trips out. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to stay there again. We would recommend The Menzies Hotel Cambridge to anyone.

Pros: Food, staff and ambience
Cons: Horrible thin hard pillows!
Location: Beautiful golf course and leisure facilities
Nice hotel and golf course. Busy and popular hotel with good service. Room safe was locked and no one knew how to unlock it for our use. Otherwise great

very pleasent area, with shops and bar snack pub

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: the location,clean,and friendly staff
Cons: a more generous amount and variety of buscuits etc
Location: easy bus ride to main town of Cambridge
I dont feel it was value for mony,£292 for two nights,no breakfast or dinner, and breakfast at £12-95 is way over the top,if it was the Dorchester i would understand, but an average hotel, sorry.

A short drive from Cambridge

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: The hotel location is perfect for visiting Cambridge.
The rooms were very spacious and huge double beds as you might expect. All very comfortable, clean and quiet for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice.
