"Staff are always lovely. Most have been there years. We had breakfast and evening meals on our 3 night stay. Always good quality food of generous portions. The room was quiet, comfy bed, clean, good quality linen etc. Bathroom although clean, could do with an update. Shower was over bath which is not great, shower screen didn't do anything and water was over floor. The bath panel was ruined because of water ingress. Wouldn't stop me staying again, its probably one if the nicest hotels in area, I've stayed in other rooms which have normal shower."

"The hotel was clean, the room was modern and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. However, we were unable to use the pool because the pump had broken that day. Given that the pool was the reason why we chose that hotel this was disappointing. That said, when I raised the issue with management, they were polite and offered a reasonable partial refund, so very positive. My main area of complaint however, is that check in was not until 4pm and check out was at 11am. Why should it take 5 hours to clean a room? This wasn't mentioned prior to booking, neither was an additional charge for use of the car park. Cost for 3 rooms for one night was in excess of £500. I would have expected the car parking to be free. "

"Rhiwlas Cottage was perfect, clean and lovely size and had everything in that made a stay extremely comfortable. The setting is in the most idyllic picture postcard place. The river running along the bottom of the split level patios was so tranquil - all you could hear was the flow and the birds singing. Was easy to book initially and Lynn was the perfect host, a lovely friendly lady - kept us updated and was happy to answer any questions we had at any time. We couldn’t have wished for anything better and would thoroughly recommend staying at Rhiwlas. We’ll definitely stay again without hesitation."

"Hotel is in a good location, ample parking. It's a stately building fairly well maintained, though the elevator access on floor 1 is hindered by the carpeting that restricts the door from opening. Yes you have to manually open the door to access the 50 + year old elevator and make sure it doesnt swallow any body part when the door closes, very cool. The food in the attached restaurant/ pub was good, though the service was hindered by only 1 person doing everything, hotel check in and restaurant duties."
